Summary: Non-skating fan, male, liked the book!
Review: I am a 30 year old male, who doesn't even like skating, and I loved this book. Ekaterina writes in a simple, honest, way that is straight from her heart. She is so unpretentious that the reader can't help but understand her and her previous life, and the pain she has experienced. It is a great book that I would recommend to anyone who wants a book that is about life.

Summary: Heartwrenching
Review: I was a fan of Ekaterina and Sergei and just had to read this book. It was better than the very best romance novel. You could just feel their love coming off the pages at you. I cried through the whole entire book. What really impressed me, though, was that you could just hear Ekaterina's voice as she wrote the story. I'd heard her speak in several interviews and her voice really came through. A lot of other similar books are too "canned" or you can tell that someone else is writing the story. Her writing style in this book was very natural. This is a must-read for anyone, skating or sports fan or not.

Summary: A Wonderful Love Story
Review: I have been a fan of Gordeeva and Grinkov since I watched them win the gold in Lillehamer. It broke my heart when I learned of Sergei's death. And when I saw that a book had been published on their life together I ordered it immediately and cried my way through it. It was a beautiful, touching love story that I could read over and over again. My next project is to read Katia's new book she wrote for Daria, which I hear is wonderful as well.

Summary: Must read for anyone who enjoys a good true love story!
Review: The very first time I read this book I could not put it down.I found myself flipping page after page when I should have been sleeping, I was reading. Since I first read the book I have reread it countless times, each time not putting down until I finished. Ekaterina did a excellent job writing this book. She was faced with a tradgy and she has fought to overcome her fears of going on without "her Sergei" that it makes me want to live my life even better. This book has got to be one of the best I have read in a long time, because it is all true. Everything that is in that book, happened. That is the true meaning. A must read for anyone who enjoys a good true love story!

Summary: The most wonderful book about the two best skaters EVER!
Review: Once I heard the Katia was writing a book, I vowed that I would but it as soon as it came out. I've always been a great fan of these two. They totally defined pairs skating. It came out around Christmas and I received it from my parents for Christmas, and I started to read it right away. My parents had to tear me away from it to open my presents. These two were just magnificent. Such a joy to watch. I used to get tears in my eyes whenever they took to the ice. Not tears of sadness but tears of happiness. They shared their love to each and every audience and I'm sure everyone appreciated that. I was very sad when I heard that Sergei had died, and I felt sadness for both Ekaterina and her daughter. But each time she skates, she skates for Sergei. How nice! She talks to him periodically, and even though he isn't here in physical form, he forever will be in spiritual form. I loved the way her book detailed each account in her life. Growing up, detailing everything that happened in her life, and finally when she was paired with Sergei, and the feelings that blossomed along with that. Both Sergei and Katia are both beautiful human beings and brought so much to their sport. I regard them as the BEST pairs skaters that ever lived because they transferred their love from real life onto the ice which made their performances so magical and easygoing. Katia was so honest in her book and that proved that she is just not only a figure skater, but a person as well with feelings, bad or good. I commend her for sharing her and her and Sergei's story with the rest of the world. It was truly a fairy tale, just as she said. I recommend this book to anyone. It is the best book I've ever read. It wasn't fiction, either. It was true-to-life. That makes it even better! Best of luck to Katia and Daria and may Sergei rest in peace in heaven, as he is their guardian angel and will watch over them forever. Sergei, I want to know that you left a lasting legacy for the world. I thank you for giving me the chance to watch you and Katia grow as performers, husband and wife, and parents. God Bless!

Summary: It is a story of passion and love for life, love and skating
Review: I was astounded by the compelling nature of this book. It was written with all sincerity and not manipulation or affectatious sentiment. It weaves two tales; one that tells of growing up in the Soviet sport system of elite athletes and the other of two people who found love, friendship and romance. Ekaterina Gordeava has chosen well which parts of her life to focus and she has done so with a depth and maturity that defies the hackneyed writing of romance "authors" whose formulatic bilge fills used book bins by the hundreds of thousands.

Summary: Sergi and Katia stole my heart
Review: I vividly remember when Katia skated to Madonna's "I'll remember" after Sergi's tragic death. I couldn't get the sad images out of my head. When this book came out, I had to know more about Sergi and Katia's relationship. Upon starting the book I was captivated by how easily she expressed her love and admiration of Sergi. With a nice blend of Russian Culture weaved in to the romance between the two athletes this story gives the reader a tender insight into their lives as Russians, figure-skaters, athletes, olympians, friends, lovers and parents.

Summary: Not just a great read for G&G fans
Review: I've been a fan of G&G since they won their first gold medal years ago, but even if I hadn't been a fan this book would have been a great read anyway. Not only is it a book about life lessons, and inner strength but a story about true loves, lost and found. It was truely an inspiration.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: you'll like it, even if not an ice skating fan
Review: and i'm not! . . . very moving love story.
