Summary: Super-exciting
Review: If you're a The Doors fan, you have to read this one. You won't be able to stop reading it for hours and hours, and also when you finish to read it, frequently you will go again and find the parts of the book that you liked the most and read them again. Or you just will read it all again. For example, I read it first in spanish and then in english. It's great because it describe you the most hidden details and facts of "Mr. Mojorising" and The Doors.

Summary: This is the one that started it all!
Review: This one lead to the revival of the doors and eventually Oliver Stone's movie. This book is great for its understanding of Jim's life and career as presented by the best two of his authors together. One critism is the presentation of his death. It seems they want to create a mystery insead of presenting the facts which some other books handle better.

Summary: You become his best friend without ever meeting him....
Review: This book shows you everything that made up the mind and body of Jim Morrison. After reading the book two times, I felt like I knew him, the real him, without ever having met him. The movie and some other books don't do that... or if they do talk about him, it makes you think that you wouldn't have wanted to meet him anyways. It shouldn't be like that.

Summary: cjafrom Guatemala, I read it seven years ago
Review: I really enjoy the book, it tooks me a more or less five days to read it. I love Jim Morrison, his music, his way to focus life. when I watched the movie, it wasn't the same, cause they give it another focus. The book really show us and tell us every little detail of his thoughts, moves. Well in fact whe you are reading the book you are really there, in the scene that's he was living. I had the book in spanish version, but the I lend it to somebody who never give it to me back, and now I need to find the book, if you can help me, I rather to get it in Spanish version.

Summary: 16 Christmastimes, Finland
Review: I read this book last summer, and I have to say, it was the book I've ever read. The book showed a picture from almost both sides, but my life hasn't been the same after it. The Doors were a exceptional band, they made unforgettable music, and they've had a good life (that's what I think). I think this book was as close to truth as anything can get, and I like the picture it gives. But I think that isn't the whole truth. I think there's something missing, like the message Jim wanted to give??? I guess he wanted to say, that life has been decided for you, and you can't change it. Audience wanted him to be the revolutionist, but he wanted to light the blues fire, and because audience didn't let him, it destroyed him. I think that's what the book tells.

Summary: A needed in depth view of Jim Morrison
Review: Oliver Stone depicted Morrison as a buffoon and oversimplified many facets of his life. Film has its limits of course and one must choose which elements to present to an audience. At Jim Morrison's grave today, why do more visit his tombstone more than Victor Hugo? Because he's had a tremendous impact on certain aspects of rock/cult culture. He had experience having lived in many areas of the U.S. We see the side of Jim often ommited. He was a conservative in may ways, ambitious, an erudite, who was extremely well read. an I.Q. 0f 140. Jim, if not for stardom and its subsequent addictions that lead to his death could have had success in many realms. What is perplexing, is that he read Nietzche and understood him.

Summary: This book will never leave your hands
Review: I read this book in my senior year of high school(1998). I never really enjoyed reading until i read this book. It was first my interest in Jim Morrison that got me the book, but the book got me to read. This book is perfect for someone who has no faith in reading. It will change you!!! Since reading a few months ago, i have read several more books and continue to learn through reading. The book lets you understand Jim Morrison and gives severe insight on the band and Jim. Definitely a must read for any fan of Jim Morrison.

Summary: The best book I ever read
Review: Definitely with out a doubt this is the best book I have ever read. It is well presented. If you want to know the life of Jim Morrison; this is the book for you. It talks about his childhood and his carrer and also sadly his death. It contains three parts The Bow Is Drawn, The Arrow Flies, and The Arrow Falls. The Re-published Version also has an epilog written by one of the authors Jerry Hopkins.
