Rating: Summary: You won't want to put it down until you're finished Review: This book is very well written and fills in a lot of the gaps of the life of Tamar. Of course, we don't really know what happened and the author explains that. The book also includes six bible studies about the story of Tamar in the back of the book. Well, Well worth the money. Gives you great insight into biblical times and what God did and who he used to preserve the lineage of Jesus Christ.
Rating: Summary: Really great book and Bible study Review: This book was really great. I really ejoyed the Bible study at the end of the book. I also enjoyed the Biblical study retold. I really enjoy stories like that.
Rating: Summary: Unveiled...great timeless story and well told! Review: This is a great timeless story of Tamar and her struggles and ultimate triumph to continue the line of Judah who was in the lineage of Jesus. Francine Rivers is a wonderful author, whom I've enjoyed reading her fiction and now, biblical based stories of the women of the bible. Great reading!
Rating: Summary: A Must-Read! Review: This is really a great book. It gives you a look into what life for women was really like during Tamar's time. It also makes the lineage of Christ come to life. It is short and easy to read.
Rating: Summary: Enlightening Review: This is the first book that I have ever read by Francine Rivers, and I am very impressed. Generally I purchase books by authors such as Frank Peretti, Bill Myers, etc., but this book was just as exciting, so much in fact that I am reading the rest of the Lineage of Grace series now! Rivers makes the story of Tamar very interesting and not too extremely detailed. She doesn't bore the reader with unecessary historical facts; she only sets the stage for the story to take place. At the conclusion of the book she makes sure the reader knows that "most" of the story was factual and all added details were obviously only from one persons point of view. She includes a bible study at the end that walks you through the story as well. Rivers uncovers, to most of us, an unknown courageous character of the Bible. It is a very, very good book. A quick, but impacting read.
Rating: Summary: A look back Review: This is the story of Tamar, who was selected by Judah to be the wife of his oldest son Er. Tamar was only 14 years old when she was sent by her family to life with her new family. What follows would be enough to break any young woman, but somehow, Tamar finds the strength within herself to survive. Evenutally, she is able to attain what she wants from life. This series is based off stories in the Bible, and I look forward to reading the rest of them. They are short, fast reads and I would recommend them to anyone.
Rating: Summary: gripping Review: This was most definitely a story of loyalty. A young girl of 14, considered adult enough to be thrusted into a new world of wife to an abrusive husband, daughter-in-law to a lazy, jealous woman and a household of selfish, self centered family members. This book was going engrossing that I finished it before I realized it. Excellent story, excellent writing.
Rating: Summary: Gives us all Hope! Review: Unveiled was a short book, but told a story that I had never heard. It is very interesting to hear about the trials and tribulations that women had to go through to follow God's plan. It gives all of us hope that through everything that we must go through- God is in control till the end.
Rating: Summary: a great series Review: What else can I say? Francine Rivers is awesome and so is this entire series. Easy reading that you can't put down until you are finished.
