Summary: Change of pace - fast pace - good for rainy night read.
Review: Being an avid female reader of murder-mysteries by both male and female authors, I find Hoag a worthwhile read. She has come a long way from her previous novels and will continue to keep me interested. Although Hoag is a native of MN, her vivid and graphical descriptions of Louisiana locale has an interesting style and her character developments are intriguing. It is commendable to have an author give female lead characters the strength to prevail and be independent individuals in their own right.

Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK. This romance/thriller/mystery has everything I want in a novel. A hot, steamy affair, suspense, Louisianna, French, and a hunk with a sexy drawl. The only thing that bugged me *only slightly, mind you* is that it took Jack.... I loved it.

Review: I purchase Tami Hoag books as soon as they hit the racks, and CRY WOLF is my favorite yet. The Louisiana color & culture added a lot to the story-line, and the steamy sex scenes gave me a touch of wanna-be voyeurism. Loved it!

Review: After reading all the other opinions of this book, I feel a little embarrassed to say, I actually liked it. I wouldn't say this book should win any awards, but it was enjoyable.

Summary: This book is a waste of time, paper and ink!
Review: At least I didn't waste any money on it, since I checked it out of the library. Cry Wolf is the dullest "suspense" novel I've ever read. I had to slog through 300 pages of goopy soap-opera histrionics before the plot kicked into what passes for high gear. All the characters are so broadly drawn as to be almost cartoonish, with the exception of the killer, who suffers from too little character development. The ending is slapdash, as if Ms. Hoag ran out of time. She should have spent more time develping plot tension and less time on the endless whining and hand-wringing of the two exceedingly annoying main characters. Very unsatisfying!

Review: Can't I give zero stars? I had read "Night Sins" and thought it tolerable at best. I made the mistake of giving Hoag another chance with this dismal effort. As someone who's lived near the setting of much of this book, I cringed at the pitiful stereotyping. Laughable characters and an adolescent plot (I don't mean to insult adolescents) actually prompted me to mark the book with a post-it note, warning would-be readers. (in my home, not a library) I realize Hoag has her followers, and I suppose writing like this has its place--perhaps alongside dime romance novels--but I'll pass on future Hoag works, thank you.

Review: This book dragged on and on. The identity of the killer was predictable. The final fight scene was short and lacked imagination. The book has a few steamy love scenes but otherwise is worthless. I would spend my time and money reading another book.

Review: I had selected this book to read based on recommendations of several friends. It was one of the most difficult books I have read. (Difficult in that I kept saying to myself, Why are you reading this?) To much time was spent in setting up the plot and the ending was so abrupt. Ms. Hoag never spent time setting up the monster villian but spent two much time on the whining of "Jack and Laurel". I got tired of the phrase "I should have left" Actually it should have been me, that left this book. This will be my last reading of this authors work.

Review: Cry Wolf was a romance novel, not a mystery/ suspense. Tami Hoag should not have bothered placing any murders in this book. 300 pages go by before any action begins. Although, the motives behind the murder were intriguing, the identity of murderer was predictable. The lack of murder development and the quickness of the resolution made this book a waste of time. If you are looking for a romance novel, this book is pretty good on that front. There are several steamy love scenes.

Review: Hoag does it again with this exciting romantic thriller. The characters portrayed in the book are realistic and believable with real live problems that are easy to relate to. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a little romance along with an edge of your seat plot that you won't want to put down.
