Summary: A suspenseful romance with a refreshingly "real" female lead
Review: Tired of the traditional, formulaic romances? Has a favorite author gotten too predictable? Tami Hoag's Still Waters fills the void perfectly.

The lead character of Elizabeth lets you know instantly that she's no run-of-the-mill heroine. She's a real HUMAN BEING -- she curses, she doubts herself -- she fights tooth and nail. She's the kind of woman you really root for during her struggles. And her lead man/adversary? He's human, too.

This novel is an excellent romance with many intriguing characters and an incredible plot. It is unlike any other romance novel you're reading by any other author, right now.

I heartily recommend this novel!

Summary: A gutsy heroine and an exciting read
Review: Struggling to put a divorce scandal behind her and coping wih her teenage son, Elizabeth is a character thqt has the reader cheering her on. When she stumbles upon a murder, she meets an attractive, arrogant sheriff who is still recovering from his divorce. The attraction they have for each other in spite of their emotional baggage intertwines the romance with the mystery. I liked this book and I particularly liked Elizabeth who is determined to make it inspite of the town's less than favorable reaction to her newspaper, her son, and herself. I especially liked the give and take between Elizabeth and Dane. I would recommend this book to anyone whoc likes a mystery with spice.

Summary: Still Waters Runs Deep
Review: This is a fabulous book, what more can you say! Hoag is a writer that is not afraid to use rich and resounding words to draw the reader deeper into the lives of her characters. "Still Waters" has just the right mix of romance to qualify it for the romance catagory, but is also full of quick and suspenseful dialog. If you are a fan of Nora Roberts, the Tami Hoag is worth a second look. And a third look, and a fourth look!

Summary: still Waters
Review: A good Romantic novel twingled with suspense as there is a murder involved When Elizabeth Stuart searched for a quiet, peaceful home for herself and herson, Still Creek seemed perfect. Nestled in the heart of lush Amish farmlands, this small, idyllic Minnesota town would allow her to put a shattering divorcebehind her. But as any other small and quite town the locals do not like strangers were noticeably cool to the newcomer--who was rumored to be a gold-digger--especially when she started stirring upcontroversy with her newspaper. And now when a murdered body appears at her feet, she was a suspect..particularly with the arrogant sheriff whom she dislikes at first and falls in love with later An ex-pro athlete who had returned to Still Creek a hero, Sheriff Dane Jantzendoesn't have much use for the media--especially not in the form of thisglamorous, gutsy outsider who spells trouble with every word she prints. Sowhen she becomes his suspect in a vicious crime, the last thing Dane expects isthe jolt of attraction at their every encounter. Elizabeth would soon challenge Dane's every assumption, including the one that he's better off without love.

Summary: You've got to be kidding me
Review: I believe this book belongs in the teenage romance section of the bookstore. Through the course of one week, six different people fall in love with each other. A few other semi-interesting events are scattered around that general idea. But how many times must we read the line- "She needed him badly.." Somebody shoot me!

Summary: Are We Reading the Same Book?
Review: This was truly appalling! All the characters were two dimensional and the plot was completely transparent. This is in fact a cheap romance masquerading as a thriller. Very disappointing and I would not recommend that anyone buy this.

Summary: Tami Hoag does it again
Review: People should really keep in mind that this is a re-print of an earlier title by Ms. Hoag and as the saying goes practice makes perfect. Although it does not measure up to her later titles (Ashes to Ashes for example) it is still not a waste of time to pick this book up and read it.

Yes, there is romance involved and personally I feel that it was an added benefit to the story. It by no means overshadowed the storyline of murder in a small town where the Amish live together with the English.

This is really a multi-layer story about the main characters Dane and Elizabeth, the secondary characters, and changes that happen when the worst is seen in a town where everyone knows everyons business.

Murder is unheard of in the last thirty-three years in Still Water. Now one of the leaders of this small community is found dead in his car. The reasons behind this murder are many and the finger points at several people and at no one. Elizabeth who just moved from Atlanta with her good looks, southern accent, troubled son, and has purchases the local news paper finds the body of the local money man and finds herself in the center of the investigatation.

Dane the local sheriff is a ex-football player turned law officer. He is carrying around some old hurts from his past that color the way he looks at women like Elizabeth but he still can't avoid the attraction that he feels for her. To make matters worse she is a suspect to the murder or at the very least a unsuspected witness. Dane needs to solve the murder and at the same time protect his heart and the woman that threatnes his peacful existance.

Don't pick up this book thinking that it is only a suspense, but at the same time don't avoid it because of the romance involved. At times it is slow going but it is still a well written story by an author that I feel has proven herself in later works.

Summary: Absolutely excellent ...didn't want it to end.
Review: This book was wonderful. Just the right amount of romance and mystery. I loved both the main characters, Elizabeth & Dane. It grabbed my attention the very first page, and kept it through to the last. This book is a must read if you like broody, handsome, challenging, independent male leads. It will not disappoint!
