Summary: A "Must Read" For the Summer
Review: An excellent summer read! Having just completed The Great Divide, I have been recommending this book to friends looking for entertaining reading for the summer. For readers who enjoy the pace of a legal thriller, The Great Divide delivers a compelling story to the judicious reader.Bunn has been able to weave a story of intrigue, deceit and criminality intermingled with today's international headlines. While most good thrillers intersperse topical facts with the fictional storyline, Bunn's writing actually seemed to urge me to pause and ask.. what if this really happens? Though I at times questioned the plausibility of bringing the defendant(s) to trial, Bunn kept me turning pages to seek the story's end. Readers may believe the outcome to be preordained, even by the character's own admissions, but the surprise story twists were ones that I could not seeing coming. I even flipped back to the earlier pages to see if there were clues I may have overlooked. If expecting a redaction of Grisham, readers should note that Bunn is not an attorney though his research does seem to hold. On the other hand if readers are expecting similarities to earlier Bunn books (though intended for a different market), readers will likewise be surprised. Even though Bunn tends to expect all Carolinians to share a country dialect, this is by far his most entertaining book and I fully expect The Great Divide to introduce readers in the mainstream fiction market to Davis Bunn. Definitely a page turner for the summer!

It has all the high drama, and interesting plot twists to make this a must read legal thriller. T. Davis Bunn has written other books (none of which I have ever read), this new book will be his breakout bestseller. Review: Believe me it won't be long until Davis Bunn, the author, of THE GREAT DIVIDE is a household word. Today he may be the best kept secret on the bestseller list, but tomorrow, he'll be a star with his incredible talent. It is obvious that Mr. Bunn is a master at research. Being a former Southerner, I felt as though I was back sitting on my front porch in the South listening to the night chorus as I read his authenic descriptions! You will agree that he has a brillant, yet charming command of the English language. I took this book along on a coast-to-coast flight, and my reactions to the events and the characters were so intense . . . I think my fellow passengers were beginning to wonder about me! This book is a great page-turner. Davis Bunn has an incredible talent for creating characters who stay with you for a long time . . .they're like old friends. I stayed up all night reading this book when I arrived at my destination and canceled my first appointment of the day so I could finish the book. When I read the last page,I felt like crying because it ended and I wanted more! This is a Grisham-like legal thriller but with much more depth. Marcus Glenwood, the central character, is down-and-out, and his future's looking pretty dim. You almost ache for Gloria Hall's parents sinking their money and all their hopes into this has-been lawyer. You have great sympathy for this guy and a he's a likable chap, but you don't want him for your lawyer! Looks like the Hall's have placed their money and their hopes on the wrong horse this time. But as the case evolves and the book moves forward,the reader becomes acquainted with the abundance of goodness in this complex guy in spite of all his flaws and ghosts. You'll find yourself pulling for him against all kinds of odds.You'll want to invite Marcus over for a cup of tea and encourage him! Davis Bunn is a master with twists and turns. Just as you are beginning to figure everything out, it goes off in another direction. You're going to love this book and these characters. It's been a long time since I've been capitivated by a book like I was this book. Marcus Glenwood teaches us all an age old spiritual lesson about redemption even after one has lost it all. Thank you, Davis Bunn, for a captivating story and deep, complex characters. Hurry up and give us another book! How about a movie on this one? Maybe a great role Harrison Ford! Jude Law would be great as the dispicable defense attorney. This man made my blood boil. A winner! Must read!

Review: Davis has written a great legal thriller. He knows the reader is looking for high entertainment value for the time and money invested and he delivers. His research is outstanding, has developed characters that live, and has cleverly developed a wild ride of a story! If you liked Runaway Jury, you'll love The Great Divide! I can't wait for the next one.

Summary: What a Page Turner!
Review: Having read all of T. Davis Bunn's books, I kept walking past this one at the book store. Not being a real fan of courtroon drama novels, I wasn't sure I could sit through it. Welll, because it was T. Davis Bunn, I knew I couldn't go wrong, so I finally bought it. Read it in a day and a half. The characters were so realistic, and the writing so tightly written and intelligent, I found I couldn't put the book down! Excellent reading - I would really love to see more of these characters. A sequel would be great!

Summary: Wow, much better than the other book!
Review: I started out reading this authors book called "Drummer in the Dark" and I was absolutely put off by his writing. I found this book, liked the summary, and decided to give him another chance. I'm so glad I did! I absolutely LOVED the characters in this book. I LOVED the story. I LOVED the plot. I really liked everything about it. I'm a new and young writer, and I'm really big on colorful descriptions that really SHOW you something, not words that tell you. I think T. Davis Bunn did a remarkable job giving us images rather than words. I think that anyone interested in legal thrillers could love this book. I won't give anything away, it has it's sad moments and it's happy moments. But it's worth reading.

Summary: Better than Grisham!
Review: I'm not usually one to like legal thrillers, but I needed beach reading, and picked up this title yesterday to fit the bill. Well, I was up all night and finished it right off without even getting to the beach! Bunn's characters are believable, and the topic of the book--a missing women involved with a sportswear company's sweatshops--is so timely and realistic it makes you wonder what Nike is up to these days. If you're looking for a good story that's actually about an issue larger than any man or woman, read THE GREAT DIVIDE. You won't be disappointed.
