Summary: The Cat Ate My Gymsuit
Review: The Cat Ate My Gymsuit is a wonderful book about a girl who is overweight, and trys to survive in her school, when a new teacher comes. Ms.Finny is a unique individual who is not afraid to stand up for different issues. You could say she's like an activist. But when she's fired for not saying the pledge of allegance at a presentation at school, everyone's upset. I gave this book Five Stars, because I believe that this book is deffinately one of the best books I've read. Paula Danziger is a great author, and I have loved all of her other books just as much as this one.

Summary: A book that has really relate to me.
Review: I first heard about this book when I was doing it for my book report in 6th grade. At first, I really wasn't into reading. To me all books were boring, but this book prove me wrong. When I read this book, I could really relate to Marcy and her problems. From that point my reading interest started to increase, and now I gain much interest in reading many books which I think is very interest. And I just have to thank Paula Danziger for that.

Summary: The Cat Ate My Gymsuit
Review: So here I am writing a review of a book that I purloined from my 7th grade english class(27 years ago). Over the years, I have reread this great book about a zillion times. I mean... how can you not connect with a teen who feels out of place with her peers, is worried about boys liking her, will do anything to hide her acne, has dysfunctional parents and a brother who stuffs orange pits into his teddy bear? When I was 13, I thought that someone had written a book about my life (let's hear it for a book that features a plus size teen). I read this book and knew that I was not alone in my fears and concerns. Today, as a mom of 2 preteens, I am instantly put back in touch with the feelings my own daughters are experiencing as they set off into the jungle that is Junior High. This book has something to offer to parents and kids alike. I hope that my resounding reccomendation of this book will be sufficient pennance for that act 27 years ago. Sorry Mrs. Kastens!

Summary: A great read that is still great
Review: I am now a mom who read this book when I was my oldest daughter's age. I bought this book last night along with "There's a Bat in Bunk Five" and re-read both of them before giving them to my daughter for her Accelerated Reading program at school. I have to say that the messages that Ms. Danziger teaches in these books are timeless, especially in the current state of national and world affairs. You CAN be an alternative thinking person and make a positive difference in people's lives - however odd or non-conventional your methods. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has ever felt "on the outside" - you really aren't alone!

Summary: The Cat ate My Gym-suit
Review: The Cat ate My Gym-suit

The book The Cat ate my Gym-suit by Paula Danzinger takes place in a small little town, around the 1900's. The main character in this book was Marcy; she is the reason why the author chose the purpose of this book (self-confidence.) I think she chose the topic of this book because Marcy didn't have very much confidence in herself and meeting Joel and becoming better friends with Marcy made her feel a lot more appreciated by people. Another character was Joel, Joel and Marcy grew to be very good friends. This book was a good book because it's a very good help to someone who lacks self- confidence.

In this book Marcy grows to have many new friends. A really important event was when Marcy and Joel meet. This was important because Joel made Marcy feel really good about her. My favorite character was Marcy because she was her own person and really didn't care what other people thought even though she lacked self-confidence. I also liked her because of her personality. She was very different. She liked doing things that not many people liked to do.

This novel was a very good lesson for me. It taught me not to under estimate myself. I would recommend this book to someone who likes autobiographies. They would like this book because Marcy talks a lot about her life in this book. I liked this book because it was an autobiography and because Marcy was a really good character, Marcy just totally fit the story. So go to your local library and I guarantee it will be the best book you have ever read!

Summary: The Cat ate my gymsuit
Review: The Cat ate my gymsuit was definitely not the best book I've ever read, but if you want a fun read, check this book out. The book describes Marcy, a 13-year-old teenage girl, as she copes with her weight and the banning of one of her favorite teachers from her school. After reading about all the problems this girl has at home and with her self-confidence, it makes you almost frustrated and annoyed with the book. Overall, I'd say this book is okay, and definitely for kids below the age of 14.

Summary: Well Written and Sweet
Review: Marcy has a hard life since her dad's smoking habit, his utter sense of dislike in her existince and not to mention making insane excuses of not having a gymsuit. As Marcy begins to get a teacher she really likes, she realizes that sometimes being fat on the outside may not be so bad when she finds her inner nice self on the inside.

Rating: 5 stars
