Rating: Summary: The illustrations are beautiful. Review: Unique story of a young girl that had to leave her family and live with her rich - hard working uncle. She has a huge heart and is madly in love with gardening. She finds herself searching for a way to make her uncle simle, and she finally does. The way that this author has written this book will amaze you. A great tool for teachers that are teaching their children how to write letters. I've used it and it is a great tool.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Captivating Review: We purchased this book for our 5 year old daughter several months ago and it has becomer her favorite. The illustrations are truely wonderful and even after dozens of readings we still keeping finding new things in book. My favorite part is that the illustrations tell the story as much as the letters. Not everything is directly spelled out for you and this allows a wonderful sense of discovery to occur as you read the book over and over. Definitely not to be missed.
Rating: Summary: Good For the clasroom. Review: While in a teacher education class, I showed my library copy of this book to a classmate. She is a teacher in a second grade class and plans to use this book when the children start gardening. Lydia Grace and her uncle are such great characters that I cried when I got to the end of the book.
