Rating: Summary: Natural and Easy ... I am glad I learned it Review:
In the fall of 2004 I learned a "non-meditation" practice called "The Ishaya's Ascension." Here is what i can report about that occurrence:
As I began the second day of the three day Course, suddenly there was this very deep realization that The Eternal (also called "The Ascendant") was NOT some THING or "State" to "Attain." It was the absolute NATURAL always-present Presence that is at the core of everything. It is clean, clear and profound in its timeless beauty. Seeing this over and over, not as an experience but rather as a glimpse of the Ultimate Reality, started an apparent process that was truly ego-shattering and while hardly comfortable, MOST welcome! The "space" is of pure, "Bhakti" or "Agape" Love ... it is said that these Teachings come from the Christ Himself. I believe that."
From an Ishaya Web Site: Meditation improves mental health, reduces anxiety and fosters spiritual enlightenment. The simple meditation techniques of the Ishayas' can be used throughout the day, with the eyes open or closed. They effortlessly draw the mind away from chaotic thought and into endless peace and stillness.
It works for me.
Love,
Ishan (Charlie) Hayes

Rating: Summary: A good book for those who are new to ascension Review: I have read the book and I have to admit that I haven't encountered anything I didn't know previously. However, I would still recommend it to people who are new to this concept. For those who have worked earnestly with A Course in Miracles, or have read and practiced the principles in the books Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East by Baird T. Spalding, Door of Everything by Ruby Nelson, or the books by Annalee Skarin, I don't think they will find anything new. The progress in this as in any other practice lies, of course, in daily practice and application of the principles to everyday life. To those who have read this book, I highly recommend to read the other books I mentioned, and some others such as Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, God I AM by Peter Erbe and The Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman.

Rating: Summary: Peace on Earth! One person at a time. Review: Is it possible to live in an ideal world? Are the dreams of Peace on Earth that have existed for countless generations merely a fantasy, or have we simply been looking in the wrong direction? For centuries we have depended on religion for healing, and relationships, and science. But this is all founded on the belief that there is something "out there" that contains our completion. In this book MSI examines that this root belief is completely misplaced; that it is only because of our misperception that we feel that love is not available to us. All that is needed to experience infinite peace is for us to draw our attention inward and to learn to use our minds in a completely new direction. When a river freezes in the winter, it may appear that the free-flowing nature of the water has been bound into the cold hard rigidity of the surface, but still the crystal clear water of life flows beneath the frozen ice. The Infinite Source of All Love for us sits silently, scintillating like a perfect jewel, waiting simply for us to drop the weapons of pain we have been holding to ourselves and pick up the beauty of our birthright. To quote the author:"this book [is] short. But the invitation is long." It is an invitation to recognize that the winter of our lives has been long and painful, but it need not endure forever. Are we ready as individuals to step out of the harsh winds of the sleeping season into the Light of the New Spring Sun? This simple choice for something new is so small, what we have to lose is so insignificant compared to the glory that awaits us. But as you will find, all true teachings constantly point the finger back at your own heart. Are you willing to step forward and release all your carefully constructed judgements about the universe to allow the Truth to shine forth, or are you comfortable behind the bastions of the castle of your mind? Will you joyfully knock down the walls you have made, or do you prefer to wait awhile and let the universe change around you before joining the chorus of celebration. Ultimately, the choice is yours, but know that the walls will not hold you much longer. As MSI states:"It may seem possible for a short time longer to oppose the great transformation that is rapidly building in this world. But this is appearance merely. And even that appearance is necessarily going to change. Those who desire to oppose Cosmic Intelligence will soon -- very soon -- be no longer found on this Earth." If this message causes a longing within you, or even a mild curiosity, I strongly encourage you to pick up a copy of this little book, and experience the vast knowledge contained within its pages
Rating: Summary: A book that can change your life! Review: Reading "Ascension" can be a very pleasurable experience to anyone interested in a new way of looking at their life, and at the stress that they have right now. But it is not enough to just read it, one must decide that there really is a way to change things. Change attitudes, beliefs, ways of looking at the world around them, by realizing that there really is a way to contact our inner Selves, and we hold the methods right in our hands, if we only care to use them. A great book for showing us that we can become on the outside what we have always been on the inside. This is a five star book for anyone that really wants it enough to do whatever is required.

Rating: Summary: Good into to spirituality, weak of the advanced stuff Review: This book is a nice introduction to spirituality in general. If you have not learned much about spirituality outside of mainstream religion then this book will be valuable to you. If you have been on the spiritual path of 'you' for awhile, there is not much new stuff here. The real heart of the advanced stuff, or nearly so, is in the very end of the book. The four ascension attitudes of Appreciation, Gratitude, Love, and Direct Cognition are the core of the intro to Ascension and the Ishayas teachings. It is too bad that these concepts were not introduced more clearly at the beginning of the book and used as chapter themes throughout. An opportunity surely missed to make this a better book. Like how do I remain in Appreciation when things happen in my life, etc. The material on the 27 spheres in the APPENDIX is very interesting. It too should have formed the core of the book. With the good stuff buried in the back most of the book is kinda mushy and light. As is the book might be best for a teenager or someone in their twenties. I hope the Ishaya teachers write something more substantitive.
Rating: Summary: Easy listening for your soul Review: This is a great book and to have it on audio cassette is incredible. I listen to it in my car and it's nice. It explains the mechanics Ascension in a straight forward easy way--Easy Listening For the Soul.
