Summary: Splendid Story of our Precious Babies
Review: A friend of mine recommended this book that she had just shared with her fifth grade son. I bought it, I read it, I cried, I loved it. When my step-daughter became an RN in a pediatric ward I reluctantly passed it on to her, but thought I really should. Now I have a friend in Germany who has a new grandbaby(here in the states) born four months early. The baby is now a little over two months old. She has started to gain weight, but still has a long way to go. I thought my friend and her husband as well as the baby's parents SHOULD HAVE a copy of this book.

Summary: Oh, sweet pap and goo
Review: A small dessert serving of metaphysics. I liked the ideas presented, but they came with a double dollop of cream. If Mr. Rodgers had a metaphysical neighborhood, this is the book he'd read to the kiddies. Yogananda's "Autobiography of a Yogi," and books about Edgar Cayce cover the same material while providing a balanced metaphysical diet not so rich in cream.

Summary: I gave my copy to a friend who lost her baby to SIDS
Review: After I learned of her 15 month old baby's death, I searched and searched for this book but with no luck. I finally decided to give her my copy so now I need to replace my copy to keep for me and my children. I think it is one of the sweetest stories I have ever read.

Summary: overdone, repetitive, and a complete waste of time
Review: As a bereaved parent myself, I found this book to be absolutely ridiculous! It is obvious that it was created as a way for the parents to have their child's memory live on, and this was the easiest excuse to push their little story into the hands of any poor soul who ends up with it. This book is for religious fanatics, and for people who are too stupid to realize that babies die every day, and that "big george's" unique story, is not so unique after all. I can't beleive they made a book out of this! It's completely insulting to me and many I know as bereaved parents, to sell such a thing! No one can understand the pain of losing a child unless it happens to them, and this aweful book fools people into thinking, after they are through with the book, that they too now can understand, because of what they have read. There was WAY too much religious connotation involved in this book. Once you begin reading it, it's like reading the same page over and over again. Every single page the baby is talking to "the father." This book belongs in christian bookstores only, and even then, there ought to be a "boring, dull, and repetitive" section to put it in. This was the abosolute WORST gift I have ever been given, the LARGEST waste of time, and the best kindling for a fire I have ever seen. Yes, I believe my baby is an angel in heaven, but I never felt the need to make an entire book about every second of every mintute he spent in the ICU and what he was thinking, or what he was saying to the great father. Most people have too much class for that! Had their been an option to rate this book with zero stars, I would have chosen that instead!

Summary: the book is ok, the author's writing is difficult to follow
Review: Big George is a good book and has a good storyline, but the author's writing style is difficult to follow. It was highly recommended and a suggested purchase for the church media libaray. I think I will place it in the library, but will give a warning about how it is written....

Summary: Wonderful gift for parents of preemies who have died
Review: Big George is my hero! This book was an inspiration to me, and I always keep a few at home, just in case someone needs it. This book is a great gift for the grieving parent or family, especially when you don't know what to say. Any acquaintance of mine who is in this boat automatically receives the book. What a sweet story!!
