Rating: Summary: A great first novel from the developer of Harpoon Review: Bond, Larry Bond, is the man Tom Clancy met when he working on The Hunt for Red October back in the early 1980s. He saw an ad for Harpoon, a computer war game used by the Navy, in Proceedings, the magazine of the U.S. Naval Institute. Red Phoenix is a great first novel. It's about another Korean war. Not that far-fetched with the unstable political situation on that divided peninsula. South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea, is invaded by North Korea, officially the People's Democratic Republic of Korea. It describes a very realistic scenario.
Rating: Summary: The best in war fiction. Review: Clancy has to keep tabs on Bond. This man is better. Putting all of the men in war situations. His books are top-notch. Grab this one and see why!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Dear Mr. Bond: What an excellent book you have written. The possible senario of a North Korean invasion is so well written that it seemed so real. I was eagerly turning each page. You are truly a visionary on world events. Sincerely, J. L.
Rating: Summary: It Could Happen! Review: From the opening chapter where North Korean tunnels are found below the DMZ this book is exciting. The scenerio of a 2nd Korean War is all too realistic. If you like Tom Clancy or Military Thrillers this book, as are Larry Bond's other works, is great.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding!!!!! Review: Having read and enjoyed two other novels by Bond, I decided to go back and give Red Phoenix a try. I'm glad that I did. Red Phoenix was truly outstanding -- a high-tech military thriller presenting an extremely realistic portrayal of a new Korean war. From the build-up preceding the action through to the exciting conclusion, the action is fast, furious, gut-wrenching, and intense. Character development is solid, diverse and believable. The reader truly understands the emotional turmoil impacting senior officers plotting strategy and soldiers on the battlefield. Pick up and enjoy Red Phoenix. Once started, it will be difficult to put down.
Rating: Summary: Average Fair Review: I did not enjoy this book as many of the other reviews have. The plot was not really that inventive, these two countries have been shooting at each other over the DMZ for 45 years. Anyway the story just did not grab me, there are better books out there i.e. anything from Clancy. He did offer a lot of good background of the area and weapons. Overall an average story.

Rating: Summary: This book was great!!!!! Review: I feel this book deals with a very possible event in a very entertaining fashion. Larry Bond's writing is superb. The characters and strategies are wonderful. I couldn't put it down!!!!
Rating: Summary: great "what-if" excellent book Review: I found the book to be exciting, interesting, and suspenseful. It is full of action and is hard to put down. I can't wait to read more of Bond.
Rating: Summary: good but not great Review: I liked the premise and plot quite a bit, except for the ending, which was a little wierd with the Chinese saving the day. Bond does not develop his characters as well as Clancy or Coyle. Does not delve into the techno-detail like Clancy and does not depict the terror of combat like Coyle. I'm glad I read it, but Bond is not at the top of my must read list.
