Review: This is an excellent book. Four unlikely people become heroes to each other in this book. The 1923 backdrop is a perfect setting for this story. There is an innocence and freshness that you couldn't put into contemporary America. The story of the pilot (Maynard), the great uncle (Hector), the boy (Jason), and the aunt (Lexie) will stay in your heart long after their names fade. I first read this book over 10 years ago, and it is still one of my favorites.
