Summary: Suprisingly new.
Review: After reading so many novels about dragons, spaceships and other worlds, you would think everything and every idea would be tapped out. That is not the case with this Captain Nemo novel. This tale is pure genius from a gifted writer. My kids even enjoyed this book and they don't like to read. Mr. Carbajal has created a spectacular new world within our own. Captain Nemo, Captain Riley, Jackie, Ari, Sonja and all the characters aboard the Nautilus, the Trinity and the Avenger, make for a breath taking ride under the sea. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy true classic story telling.

Summary: A splendid adventure of pirates and madmen
Review: Captain Nemo is very well done and exciting. This author has worked hard to create a madman who thinks he is a character from a Jules Verne novel. At first I thought this was a continuation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Mysterious Island; but the author has given us a few clues as to the contrary. The chapter called Captain Nemo gives us a glimpse at a deeper, darker, at times, very disturbed genius. To have all the wonders of the world at your fingertips. The power of this man's crew and submarines was outstanding. The author makes Captain Nemo's world seem so believable and enchanting. I do hope there is more. Great work, Mr. Carbajal.

Summary: MASTER OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!
Review: Captain Nemo is a brilliant devil of the sea. To show him in total control throughout chapters like Sanctuary, The River of Styx and the Pit of Hermes was very well crafted. Then, to show him so vulnerable as he struggled to survive, bleeding, being pounded by storms, trapped in the chapter the Atoll, was pure genius. I've read this book several times, over and over and it always takes me away, out there with Captain Nemo. Thank you Mr. Carbajal, for a great book.

Summary: THIS IS THE NEXT STAR WARS!!!
Review: I wonder why this novel starts on Chaper 119? Can this be the original Captain Nemo? This novel had me soaring through the ocean in the Trinity, the Avenger and the Nautilus. The dark id of this Captain Nemo was brilliant and disturbing. The way he communicated with the sea creatures was outstanding. Jackie, Titus, Samson, Ari and Nemo were fun, terrifying characters. Captain Nemo is truly a classic!

Summary: An Exceptional Journey.
Review: I was very pleased to get my copy of this novel. Mr. Carbajal has a unique way of prosing dark elements of characters into an exciting, underwater adventure. Captain Nemo creates a new world within our own, out there in the oceans. I had to censor some of the words (only three or four) when I read this story to my children. At school the next day, they drew me pictures of the whales and the dolphins, just the way they were described in the story (my son and daughter are 8 and 10). I really think this writer could make a childrens book using the ideas in this Captain Nemo novel. I could also see this book put into a movie. I could actually see in my head all the images from this book. B JONES.

Summary: A Wonderful Presentation!
Review: At times this Captain Nemo is fast, cold and rough like the sea; like Captain Nemo himself. At other times the prose dance with musical images: Sanctuary with the Blue Whales, the Pit of Hermes and the Isles of Gold. Every little detail of this novel describes the longing of each character. Captain Riley longs to live in the sea, Jackie Fife longs to go back to Ireland and Captain Ari searches for approval from his father, Captain Nemo. Simple, childhood visions of sea creatures and super submarines are only the surface of this tale of a mans journey to find peace. I am very impressed with Mr. Xavier Joseph Carbajal and I will be looking for the sequel.

Summary: A Magnificent Read
Review: The intensity and the pace of this wonderful story of a recluse genius/warrior was a pleasure. The authors ability to mold images of underwater worlds and sea creatures of immense power was brilliant. Brutus the squid being devoured by the giant eel that talks to Captain Nemo, Goliath the great whale taking it upon himself to become judge and jury of the oceans and Hermes in the well of diamonds. All vivid scenes that make you want to explore the excitement of the oceans. Ah, but is this really the Captain Nemo from Jules Vernes "2o,ooo leagues under the Sea and Mysterious Island?" If it is Mr. Xavier Carbajal has created a wonderful dedication to those of us who love science and the oceans. But, if this is a genius who thinks he is Captain Nemo, a name he read in a Jules Verne novel, this work is even more exceptional. With a cast of characters like Donald "Don Quixote" chasing the dreams of the seven seas, fishing off the side of the Nautilus with Jackie Fife, Captain Nemo driving golfballs from the deck of one of the most powerful submarines on earth, into the Carribean Sea with Titus and a loyal crew of scientists in a secret society, out there in the oceans. Then, there is Uriah and Kronos. After reading Captain Nemo, I walked the shore near Kirkcaldy, looked out into the North Sea and I swear I saw Captain Nemo, riding atop the Nautilus, the Trinity or the Avenger.

Summary: A wonderful way with science, oceans and technology
Review: It is good to know there are still authors like Mr. Carbajal who can bring forward and express, in writing, magical childhood dreams. The way he dances with prose and characters in Captain Nemo is a treat. The Captain Nemo he has chosen to create is a person like many of us who appreciate and love science. My children also enjoyed the wonderful story and images in this novel, with the whales and the dolphins. This Captain Nemo book will certainly encourage future generations of young people to study the oceans and the marine life, and also to find a way to preserve them for their children.

Summary: Breathtaking and intense
Review: I was very surprised to see such a great work of art, such as this Captain Nemo. The way the author created this crew of scientists, applied 21st Century submarine technology and still crafted a splendid story, was a joy to read.It has been a long time since a writer could make science fun. This novel is as wonderful as the Jules Verne Classics and is as good as todays bestsellers like Blind Mans Bluff and the Jennifer Project. I await the sequel.

Summary: SPECTACULAR!!!!!
Review: At times in Captain Nemo, it is difficult to breath. Such great action and adventure, all wrapped around a brilliant story. Even my fifteen and eighteen year old sons read and enjoyed this novel. Mr. Carbajal has a magical way of describing faraway lands and fantastic places under the ocean. He also has a gift for telling a really great story. The journey Captain Nemo must take, rising up again from his secret life to protect his oceans, but at the same time he must choose between the love of his wife or the love of science. Oh, and the characters like Jackie Fife, Captain Riley, Tiger and Samson added remarkable dimension. I hope to see many more novels by Mr. Carbajal.
