Review: I am 15 and my brother is in college. He and I like science fiction like Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Harry Potter, X-Men and other sceince fiction and fantasy movies and books. We thought Captain Nemo was an excellent book and audiobook. We thought Captain Nemo, Sonja, Ari and the others used ocean sciences in a great way. This has given me and my friends at school an idea for the science fair project. We hope there will be another Captain Nemo book with Uriah and the others.

Review: My younger brother and I have loved the Lord of The Rings series of books and the Harry Potter books for years. I was glad he let me read his copy of Captain Nemo. I am a nineteen year old female in my first year of college. I love the oceans and I am in the engineering program. My friends at school (and my brother) loved this Captain Nemo book because it seemed so real. We have been to the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean many times. Now we can't wait for summer vacation to see if Captain Nemo really is out there. This writer also has a way with strong female characters. I really liked Sonja.

Review: Who wrote that dumb Publishers Weekly review? My friends and I read this Captain Nemo book and listened to the book-on-tape. This thing is GREAT!!! We loved the giant sea creatures like Goliath and Hermes. Very cool writing. We are doing book reports on Jules Verne and we have read 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea and Mysterious Island. We have to admit Captain Nemo has gotten tougher, smarter and his Super Submarines: The Nautilus, The Trinity and The Avenger are works of genius! Just like the mysterious Captain Nemo. We hope there will be a sequel. This would also make a great movie or comic book. A bunch of us are artists and we drew a bunch of scenes from this book.

Review: I was surprised to see my fifteen year old son reading this Captain Nemo novel. Especially because all he talks about is Harry potter and Star Wars. My son started a school writing assignment on Jules Verne and he told me this novel was brilliant and he loved the underwater world Nemo and his crew lived in and explored. I just finished reading this novel and I am half way through it again. I have also ordered a copy of the Captain Nemo audiobook. This is truly a breathtaking, well written adventure. I read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea when I was in college and I am very impressed how his author has expanded and added a new dimension to the infamous captain who rules the seas. I understand there is going to be a sequel. My son and I look forward to Xavier Carbajal's next Captain Nemo adventure.

Review: I bought this Captain Nemo book for my brother for Christmas. He was visiting last month and let me borrow his copy. Him and I grew up on science fiction (my dad likes this novel too), so we're always looking for something new. Well, after going to see the new movie A.I. we started comparing this Captain Nemo style of writing to Stanley Kurbrick/Steven Spielbergs style. They are very close. Although Captain Nemo is a little more commericial, this novel sticks to true science fiction. The characters are three dimensional, colorful and have unique personalities. Nemo himself has been reinvented, expanding on the Jules Verne classics 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Mysterious Island. The powers Nemo and his crew possess can be traced back to the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt.My brother is going back through some of Jules Vernes works with Captain Nemo, for his college thesis. So far, he said this Captain Nemo picks up where Jules Verne left off. We have also ordered the audiobook for this novel and await the sequel.

Review: My friends and I picked up a copy of the Captain Nemo audiobook a few months ago at a comic book convention in Florida. Then my brother at UCLA sent me a copy of the novel. Captain Nemo is one of the most exciting books I have read in a long time. My brothers and my friends grew up on Star Wars, Star Trek and other great stories about far away places.But nothing like this secret world under the sea. The way Captain Nemo reads makes science and the adventure under the sea a great story. We noticed on the dustjacket there was going to be a Captain Nemo sequel to this novel. What happened? We want to know what happened to Uriah and Kronos? What's next with Captain Riley? What about Ari and Sonja? We also loved the giant sea creatures like Brutus and Hermes. I hope there are more of them in the next Captain Nemo novel. Also the audiobook had some cool music. It really took you out in the ocean.

Review: My friends and I had to do a book report on Jules Verne and we thought the Captain Nemo audiobook was great! We like the cool music and sound affects. It made you feel like you were under the ocean with the giant ESP sea creatures and Captain Nemos submarines. We like to go to movies like Star Wars, X-Men and The Mummy. We think Captain Nemo would make a great movie and would get kids to learn about Jules Verne. Lydia.

Review: I thought this audiobook was going to be a commercial, Hollywood-ish take on the Jules Verne Classic but I was very surprised. The style of this recording makes you feel like you are under the ocean. It has a New Age quality about it using a clever, new style of science fiction writing. The author, Xavier Joseph Carbajal, has expanded the whole dimension of Captain Nemo into a mystical, underwater empire. I read the book a few months ago and I was fascinated by how this author got you into the mind and soul of Captain Nemo. My fourteen year old daughter also liked the book and audiobook. She liked the way Mr. Carbajal gave strong roles to the women characters - she especially liked Sonja. We wish you luck with this one and will be looking for more adventures with Captain Riley, Ari, Sonja and Captain Nemo.

Review: My sons love things like Star Wars, X-Men, Harry Potter, you name it. I had to write after finding how they have taken a fond interest in this Captain Nemo book and audiobook. After I listened to the audiobook I was very impressed. Since my boys have listened to Captain Nemo they have become very interested in oceanography, astronomy, geology and submarine technology. I felt this was one of the most clever ideas to come along in decades. I had to read Jules Verne in high school and in college, and I never remember Captain Nemo being this enjoyable. As our children grow up, they become their own persons. That messege is very clear in Captain Nemo and how fatherly he is of his crew on the Trinity, Avenger and the Nautilus. My family and my friends children will be eagerly watching for the sequel. Good work.
