Summary: A must have if you want to get published!
Review: I learned more from listening to this 90 minute audiobook, than from reading dozens of writing books. Books -- for whatever reason -- only take you so far. Most writing books only present the mechanics of writing and not publishing your work. Most books on publishing are discouraging.

Weimer's tapes cut through the B.S. to showed me, step-by-step, what I needed to do to get published: how to write a saleable proposal. And he's funny to boot! But best of all, he's positive and encouraging about your chances of getting published.

I found this extemely helpful and recommend this audiobook HIGHLY! Now if I can just find a good book on typing accurately!

Summary: A must have if you want to get published!
Review: I STRONGLY disagree with the reader from Sammamish, WA. Of course it doesn't sound as refined a studio recorded audiobook. It was recorded at a LIVE workshop! The recording is so good that it does pick up the occaisional audience cough, but it's better than most live recordings, such as Zig Ziglar or Anne Lamott. But enough about the sound quality.

Dr. Weimer gives advice on finding marketable ideas, proposal and query writing, and promotions that I've never read anywhere else. His advice advice on agents and publishers is down-to-Earth and very practical. Like the other reviewers, I found him to be very funny and the material to be really accessible. I can't imagine how anyone could listen to this tape and not get published. He just lays it all out for you in one, neat 90 minute package.

Summary: Informitive, useful and FUNNY!
Review: This guy is a total hoot! But beyond the humor in this audiobook was a ton of very useful information that is completely unavailable in audio form. Excellent for snuffing out writers-block. I really enjoyed this audiobook.

Summary: Terrible Audiobook - coughs, sniffles, slurred speech
Review: This is the worst audiobook I have ever listened to. The author is the speaker, and from now on, I will shy away from audiobooks that are not read by a professional narrator. The author seems nervous during the first half of the book, so you hear his every breath and sigh, and he even slurs his speech at times. You also get to hear coughs and sniffles. It was very hard to focus on the content due to the distractions on the tape. My biggest complaint is that the author does not annunciate when he speaks. If you must have this book, by all means get the book and not the audiobook! I was very dissappointed and would return it if I had the time to do so.
