Rating: Summary: Absobloddylutely Brilliant Review: This book makes laugh again and again no matter how many times I read it. Yeah, it has homophobic comments but thats true to the generation, yes it talks about worrying about body shape, but honestly what women (or man for that matter) hasn't? And of couse she wants to be ogled by boys, who dosen't. Those who don't find this book at least mildly amusing are to fixated with political correctness or have no sense of humour. Georgia is not stereotypical. She is normal amplified. Most women wear or have worn make up. Just because Georgia likes to be admired by men, look good, have a rebellious attitude does not make her stereotypical. This book does not put across the image that women are only good for one thing. In fact it does the reverse. In a certain light it is practically a feminist treatise. And I know that Georgia is normal. I'm 14 as well and I certainly share Georgia's concerns. So to those who are to politically correct for your own good, re-read this and try to see it a different way.
Rating: Summary: Fabbity fab fab!! Review: This bbok is awesome and you should all go read it right now! i said NOW! My frined was reading this, and since the cover is bright GREEN, I asked her what it was. The next day she lent it to me, and I got hooked on the FIRST page. (ok not really, but keep reading till you get to the part about brows!!! If you don't love it by then, then you're dead!!) I got home and read the whole book in ONE day (it was also midyear week, so I had a half day, but that's besides the point!) This book is sooooo good. You'll laugh the whole way through. I can't wait to read the next one, which i will be begging my friend to borrow as soon as she's done with it!!!!
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: I'm fourteen, and I found this book hilarious! Georgia's a whiny brat. She's stupid, self obsessed, funny and rude. I feel sorry for those who don't have a sense of humor and can't see the humor in the story! Her diary covers most aspects of a teenage girls life, and accepts it in a braty way, complaining and turning to her best- yet still annoying, broadcasting Georgia's entire life to everyone- friend. She's funny, without meaning to, and she's not perfect. That's what makes her so lovable. She has the intelligence of a pea, only cares for herself, yet that's what makes everyone love her so much! It makes me laugh how some people can be so idiotic, not realizing that 'wanting to kill herself but being too depressed to do so' is a joke entirely, and take it so seriously. Georgia's fabbity fab fab, and encounters the average problems of plucking eyebrows, capturing a boy, makeup, kid sisters, insane cats, shopping, best friends, getting over embarassing moments, parents, bras, ex-boyfriends, and even fighting the trecherous waters of school. She presents everything in such a humorous form, you can't help thinking how petty, and ridiculous your problems are. Just look at Georgia! Bloody brilliant book.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL! Review: I read this book last summer. I became addicted...Georgia tells it like it is, and makes it funny, interesting, and exciting to read. I immediatly bought the next two in the series and read them both in 2 nights! They are a must-have collection for any teenage girl who dreams about having someone's boyfriend, doesn't always get along with her parents, and hates her friends from time to time. Even if you don't, they're funny to read and really enjoyable! I recommend this book a whole lot!
Rating: Summary: She's Fourteen, She's British and She's Funny Review: Meet Georgia Nicholson: the forgotten younger Bridget Jones. She's definitely curious about sexuality, about her life, and about her friends. She's pretty typical. She's got a best friend who annoys her much, she has a family that annoys her much, and she's dying to get a boyfriend. A cute, older boyfriend. Enter Robbie. Yeah, Georgia's Sex God, and she will not stop at nothing to get him. I may be a boy, but I find the series of Georgia's confessions funny and interesting. She's a girl with spunk, curiosity and sense of humor. Just don't take this to school or out in public, if you don't want to get made fun of. Just keep it to yourself and you'll have hours of laughter.
Rating: Summary: the first Review: the first of her series... i've read all three of the books, and am patiently awaiting the fourth. they are all so funny, and if you buy this one, you too will be hooked, i can almost promise you that... they'll make you want to laugh out loud.
Rating: Summary: Making teen girls look worse one page at a time.. Review: There should be a way to select zero stars. Everyone told me how amazing this book was, but after reading it, I am shocked. Georgia is shallow and pathetic. She is a degrading representation of today's teenagers. She whines about her nose, the possibility of being a lesbian, and how she wants to kill herself but she is too depressed to do it. The first half of the book is about her eyebrows, but the majority of the book is about a 14-year-old girl making out with guys. Now there is a great life lesson. Now, if you waste your time moping over garbage then go ahead and read the book. It's probably for you. Georgia is a perfect example of a girl who needs to get over herself, and grow up quickly. If you prefer a little depth, skip this one. I thought comedy books supposed to make you laugh.
Rating: Summary: a very funny book! Review: This book is so funny!! I read it over and over again! I could not stop laughing, and some of the funniest parts were with her little sister! She has random "poo explosions", smells a bit hampsterish, and tells embarrassing stories about Georgia. Georgia's best friend,Jas, is completey clueless, and gets it into her head that she looks like Claudia Schiffer! This is a really funny book worth your time to read!
Rating: Summary: The most fabby book ever!! Review: From 17 magazine: "Refrain from reading this in public, you will laugh so loud" or something like that........ but it was absolutly true! This is a book you will not be able to put down or stop reading. For me this meant reading this in that boring 9th grade english and yes I was cracking up. My dense english teacher though i was laughing at his not so funny jokes. Oh but I'm not encouraging reading in class, I failed. Geaorgia has typical teenage female angst problems, and then some. Or they are typical but very exagerated. She puts much humor into her minor problems. This book might make even the the most stern person laugh, or even just smile. Great for when your feeling beyond blue.
Rating: Summary: best book ever (and the good part is, is there's more!) Review: i absolutely loved this book. the book really went into depth with the characters and all of georgia's emothions and feelings. it was a really cute little book, and i aboutsolutely adored it. i really liked it especially because there were two more books in the series! i couldn't put the book down until i was on the last page, and then i had to run out to borders to go and pick up the next two books in the series! i'm telling you, buy this book, and you'll laugh your way through the holidays.
