Rating: Summary: Okay, but not the best Review: This was not one of her better books. I liked the ones with the sled dogs better. Even though this was not her best Henry described the Alaska wilderness vividly.
Rating: Summary: The Alaskan Wilderness comes alive in this exciting mystery. Review: While the Alaskan wilderness has a chance to thaw out after its usual brutal winter, Rochelle Lewis is informed by proper authorities that her husband's missing Cessna (lost for a half of a year) has been found. Rochelle flies herself to the scene of the crashed airplane where she learns that her spouse Norm is not amidst the wreckage. Instead, an unidentified woman, who was beaten before the crash, is found dead inside the plane. Even more frightening is the fact that the plane was shot out of the sky.
......Leading the official police investigation is Alaska State Trooper Alex Jenson. He has enough on his plate trying to figure out what happened six months ago. Now he has more to worry about since Rochelle insists on being part of the investigation. Someone wants Norm's secretive trip kept secret and that individual will do anything, including murder, to insure that the purpose behind the fatal plane trip remains hidden.
......SLEEPING LADY is a great novel worth reading due to is impressive description of Alaska and its natural beauty, and the brilliant characterizations. The who-done-it is well written, but it is Sue Henry's obvious love for the Alaskan wilderness that will enchant readers. For more Alaskan mysteries with that same Henry charm, this reviewer strongly recommends MURDER ON THE IDITAROD TRAIL and TERMINATION DUST - no one bakes Alaska more deliciously than Ms. Henry.

Rating: Summary: Snookered! Review: Yes, I was snookered by the ending of this book. Never saw it coming. And I liked the fact that I didnt. Norm Lewis is missing and a woman is found shot dead in his plane bogged down in water. His wife, Alex Jensen and a few others plod into the wilderness after their plane is grounded in an effort to find Norm and instead, find trouble in several forms. The opening chapter is marvelous. After being to Alaska and seeing a few grizzlies in the wild, you never want to see any animal become extinct. They work on instinct and have no intention of going after us unless we are in their way. What a book! An exciting read. The ending is cheating but what the heck! I like to be snookered once in a while...in a good way. On to the next. :D
