Review: oh my gosh~!! this is one of the worst books i've ever read~!!i'd rather eat dirt for dinner for the rest of my life than read thisbook again... itz so bad~!! *choke* *puke* argh... i was so frustrated with that horrible girl.. she cheated on her husband... and then she fallz in luv wit a weirdo old ugilee guy... sowie... i usually luv jude deveraux... in fact, this is the only book of herz i've read that i dislike/hate... itz horrible.. but i recommend jude deveraux's series of velvet angel, velvet song, highland velvet, and uh... the last one.. i can't remember.. those are the best books i've read~!! i've read each one over 10 times~!! itz incredible.. great job jude~!! keep it up~!!
Rating: Summary: I Had To Force Myself To Finish Review: Normally, Deveraux's novels are so interesting and captivating that I read two a day. It took me almost a MONTH to sludge through this one, and I almost threw the book away in disgust. It begins interestingly enough, then moves on to idle chit-chat about Trevalyn's travels. When they finally do hit the sheets, it's as unromantic as Jude Deveraux's scenes get. If anything, their encounters were mechanical. The epilogue also left the reader hanging, if they bothered to read to the end.
Rating: Summary: JUDE STAYS TRUE TO FORM!!! Review: Jude Deveraux does it again with The Duchess. She weaves a spell of love and romance that you are not likely to ever forget.
Rating: Summary: I have read better Review: I have read quite a few deveraux books and I was disappointed by this one. She has the potential to do much better
Rating: Summary: AN EXCELLENT READ, Review: I HAVE READ EVERYTHING OF JUDE DEVERAUX AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. TREVELYAN IS HER SEXIEST, BEST,LEADING MAN EVER!!!
Rating: Summary: Enchanting. I could not put it down. Review: Jude Deveraux s masterpiece. With The Duchess Deveraux shows her readers what romance is all about. A great heroine, full of energy and strength. A hero who you wish would come to life and sweep you off your feet. I stayed awake all night just to wish the book had never ended.
Rating: Summary: Made me very HAPPY Review: i love it , it's just so wonderful and the love between them is so romantic thank u for writing such a thing to make me happy
Rating: Summary: A masterpiece, not her best but a very close second. Review: Jude could not have have written a book that had more perfect timing then that of The Duchess. Everything that was needed to be said was said at the right time. Everything that was done was done at the right time. However, she could have described the characters a bit more. Also, she could have wrote more on what Trevelyn was thinking. Every reader knew what he felt, its just that I had a hard time figuring out what he was thinking.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, and based on a real historical character Review: If you enjoy this book, be sure to watch the movie "Mountains of the Moon". It is about the real man that Trevelyan is based on, Victorian explorer Captain Sir Richard Francis Burton. They even have the same scars!
Rating: Summary: I loved this book. Review: Trevelyan was/is one of the most arrogant men there ever was but I still loved him. I think deep in all of our romantic hearts we dream of having a man like him love us as he loved Claire and to believe we have that something about us that can conquer someone as hard as him. His declaration of love to the "Pearl" was one of the most romantic and deeply passionate declarations I've ever read in any book. That in itself made me want to love him. Noone is perfect but love can sometimes conquer all and I think it did for Claire and Trevelyan.
