Summary: What I thought...
Review: "Comfort from a Country Quilt" consists of sweet, narrative stories from Reba McEntire's life. She describes the importance of being a part of your family, the importance of being your own person and following your dreams. Reba describes all of the people in her life, that she cares so much about. Each person is unique, and fashioned with their own special talents. Reba adds a little bit of her country charm, and lets us enjoy hearing old family and friend memories. Reba shares memories from childhood, about her days in Oklahoma and what her life was like as a country, rodeo girl.

I think this was a warm-hearted biography. It was certainly written by someone with a big heart, and who has a lot of expert advice to give. This biography has a sort of fluffy kind of nature to it. Reba is able to give you advice, in a motherly way without feeling pressured. The McEntire family is presented to be a "picture perfect family". Everyone is close and everyone gets along. Each help with dinner, and each help with house work and the chores outside. Wouldn't you love to have those children? I enjoyed the flow of this bigraphy and it was especially interesting to hear Reba McEntire share her faith in the Lord. I really enjoyed reading Comfort from a Country Quilt.

Summary: What I thought...
Review: "Comfort from a Country Quilt" is a warm-hearted biography in which Reba McEntire describes the love that she has for her family, friends and music. Reba takes us back to the good ol' days when she was living in Oklahoma. Every person mentioned in this book have unique personalities, with their own talents and gifts. Reba shares old fond memories, and funny stories of her many tours and trips on the road. Reba is a great story teller. She captures you, and puts you into her life. It's almost like you have become part of the McEntire family! Reba digs down deep and describes each detail so vividly. I felt as if I had been there to witness it all!

I think this was a light, sweet hearted book. Reba gives advice to everyone about faith, dreams, happiness and family. She proves to others that nothing, not even fame can take away the importance of family. Reba wrote this book in a light, airy sort of way that makes it enjoyable. The many humorus memories make it entertaining, and the sweet tear-jerker memories make it sweet. Reba must have had fun writing such a happy go luckily novel and I enjoyed reading about her life and how she became the person she is now. I also really enjoyed reading about her faith in the Lord, it was neat to learn about her faith and how she handles her fame.

Summary: Comfort From a Country Quilt is a real conversation w/Reba
Review: Comfort From a Country is truly a back porch conversation with Reba McEntire. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to talk to Reba for a couple of hours, this is as close as you get. Reba's writing style, although, rough around the edges, is very down home and comfortting. In a time when most celebrities are writing books with LOTS and LOTS of help from other writers, it's good too see Reba writing on her own, writing from the heart, and writing for her fans. This is not an autobiography, but you do get a glimpse into Reba's family life. If you liked "My Story", you'll love "Comfort From a Country Quilt".

Summary: What I thought...
Review: Comfort from a Country Quilt was just that. Short stories that remind you of the love & warmth of your own family. Quilt blocks don't need to match--but the simple act of putting them together create an expression of love & dedication. This is a wonderful book for anyone needing to acknowledge their family and their faith as important parts of their life. Blessings abound from the love that reaches out in these stories. I recommend you read this book with a good cup of tea by a warm woodstove.
