Rating: Summary: It is a piece that will grasp you to read further. Review: Robert Peck's novel, "A Day No Pigs Would Die", shows the changing of a boy into a man. This story presents to you the emotions the character, Rob Peck, goes through especially after he discovers that his father is very ill and will soon die. After he discovers this his father teaches him what it is to be a good farmer as well as how to be a respected man. The author reflects the book from real life situations he himself went through as a young boy.
Rating: Summary: I think this is a wonderfully written book. Review: Robert Newton Pecks, "A Day No Pigs Would Die," is an excellent book that reaches out to every reader, as an individual. It tells the story of a young boy growing up under a religion that he wishes he didn't belong to. His father, a major source of wisdom for him, helps him to understand the many difficulties of life. Robert experiences many hardships that in the end help him to be the man that his father once was.
Rating: Summary: The book lacks depth and adequate elaboration. Review: A Day No Pigs Would Die is not elaborate on the correct areas in the book and lacks depth which causes the story to lose its appeal to readers. Though the story involoves details that may be alluring to the audience it is not placed in the right context. Despite the apprasial by other readers, I feel as though this novel is one that can be abnegated from your reading list.
Rating: Summary: It was an exceptional book. Review: "A Day No Pigs Would Die" was an exceptional book , because it relays a way of life that is alien to most. There was much happiness in the beginig of the story, the tragic climax sets the mood for the rest of the book.
Rating: Summary: An Astonishing book! Would recomend it for ANYONE!!!! Review: This story is about a 12 year-old boy that has to learn alot about life the hard way. He was a Shaker and lived in a home that was plain. He ate home cooked maels and wore home made clothes. Robert Peck is a great author and I would very much like to read another one of his books.
Rating: Summary: capitvating! leave you speech less! kind of gross, though Review: Robert Peck is a great author that deserves all the recognition in the world! Robert tells an amazing tell of life as a young Shaker boy. He deals with many hardships and grows up within a season. It's remarkable how Robert describes what he went through when he was a little boy.Robert Peck may have had a boring childhood, but it was intersecting to some other people.
Rating: Summary: I thought it was an excellant book wich I would love reading Review: The book "A Day NO Pigs Would Die" is an excellant book to read. If I had the time I would read it again and again. It also has taught me many valuable lessons. One thing I dislike about this book is some of the graphic things described. Mainly the birth of the calves. Other than that I think it is a great book.
Rating: Summary: very interesting book Review: I think this book is very touching. It is the early life of a well- known author- Robert Newton Peck. It is a story of life and death and the determination of a young boy to understand it. This book will touch your heart and lead you to a different perception of death. I strongly recommend this book to a young person coping with death.
