Review: I have read all the Sammy Keyes books (including the Psycho Kitty Queen), and this one remains my all-time favorite! Sammy and Marissa go to Hollywood to find Sammy's mom on a school holiday. They find Lady Lana, but she's not quite as they expected! She's living in a mansion with a bunch of other wannabe-stars, and the very night that Sammy and Marissa arrive, a woman dies...or is murdered? But why would someone want to kill her? That's what Sammy is out to discover before anyone else gets hurt.
This book kept me enthralled from the very beginning. The mystery and the "answer" in this book were far more interesting, exciting, and tense than any other Sammy book (and I love them all!)! It's a must-read for all mystery-lovers! It will hook you on Sammy Keyes!

Summary: Intriguing!!!
Review: I LOVE the Sammy Keyes books! I actually just finished reading this one for the second time a few hours ago. It is great! I love Wendelin's style of writing. Also, this book has such a well thought out plot! It is tricky and complex, but all makes sense in the end. I would recommend this book to someone who likes mysteries, adventure, Eygyt, or creative books. READ IT TODAY!

Summary: Another good once but not the best
Review: I read alot of books esspecially mysteries. And I usally know when a book is gonna go big or small. I usally enjoy the Wendelin Va Draanen books but this one definetly had a differnt fwritting.This book of Sammy Keyes definetly holds a differnt feel. From the normal possible mysteries Sammy usally solves, this one takes na eyri turn. Sammy goes ti visit her mother and while she's there a murder or SUICDED is comitted. Sammy yet again takes it apon herself to solve it. But will Sammy uncover the truth or desicover something eles. THis book is definetly good and worth buying but in my opion this is not the best of the Sammy Keyes series.

Summary: So exciting!
Review: I think this is definetely one of the best of the Sammy Keyes series. I have read them all and they're all VERY good and this one is right up there. In the book, Sammy and her best friend take a bus to Hollywood to visit Sammy's mother who left her to go become a star. Sammy's mother lives in a house with a lot of other actors. One of the actors who looks very much like Sammy's mother is killed. Sammy follows the clues leading up to an extremely huge ending. The ending is really surprising and kind of freaky too, but definetely good. I reccomend this book to anyone who likes suspense, humor, or just really good books!

Review: Okay, I am a pretty new Sammy Keyes fan, but I love these books! This one was exciting and had me going until the very end. I wasn't sure who to blame and you know, Sammy caught on before I did. Now, given the fact that she's 12 and I'm not....plus the fact that I've read a lot of mysteries and should be able to read between the lines, that is saying a lot. Sammy will keep fans and readers on the edges of their seats, wondering what she will do next and breathlessly hoping that she won't get caught. Her journey, with friend Marissa, to Hollywood in this story is great....I love the detail given about the people who hang around in the bus depots. Also, the appearance of her mother (Lady Lana) was GREAT...as fans know, she doesn't appear in the other books, so this was a great way to find out about her. This book is definitely a great choice for mystery fans!

Summary: Sammy Keyes and the Hollywood Mummy
Review: Sammy Keyes and the Hollywood Mummy was a great book. Wendelin Van Draanen did a superb job. She kept my attention glued to the book. Her book is so well written that it kept me curious and interested from one page to the next. This is a story of a girl named Sammy Keyes who went off to Hollywood along with her friend to look for her mother. Her mother left Sammy to live with her grandmother to be an actress in Hollywood. Marissa, her friend had a great sense of humor and played a very good supporting role. The story became more and more interesting after Sammy found her mother, Lana Keyes, a.k.a. Dominique Windsor. I liked the way the suspenseful events unfolded. The characters were also interesting and peculiar at the same time. Sammy is a very good detective. I can relate to her thoughts and techniques. There was just no stopping her. After she uncovered Max's secrets, she was able to free her mother, from the strange man who wanted to marry her. The message of the book is well established throughout. We have to be accepting of who we are and not pretend to be what we are not. I really enjoyed this great read.

Summary: The best series of books for girls around 12 years old.
Review: Sammy Keyes books are my FAVORITE books of all time, because I think most girls can relate to one of the characters in the book and everybody has their own Heather Acosta brat at their school. It is not a way out there mystery, it's one you can follow and become very interested in. I have read ALL the Sammy Keyes books and I want more of them! Scratch that, I NEED more of them. I want more to come out soon!

Summary: Sammy Keyes and the Hollywood Mummy
Review: Sammy Keyes is a believable character, overall a very cool kid. She knows what is real and trusts her gut instincts, whether it's discovering what is truly going on in a Hollywood mansion full of beautiful, aspiring television and movie stars (guarded over by an aging manager who is fully obsessed with all things Egyptian) or in connecting on a satisfying level with her mom, who is trying so hard to become a success in Hollywood that she has totally re-invented herself and left Sammy temporarily out of the picture. There are surprises galore, and just when you think you have the mystery figured out -- you don't! Sammy's friend, Marissa, is a perfect foil as she challenges and questions Sammy when she needs it. A fun and worthwhile read, middle-school kids will want more action-filled mystery fiction like this one.
