Summary: Da Bomb!!!!
Review: Yo, Eric!!! When it comes to your writing you hold no punches!!!! Ya' hit me high then you hit me low. :-) Between Lovers was off da' hinges. It really made you stop and think. What would you do for the one you love? I have told anyone that will listen to go get it. I need to bounce this one off of somebody!!!! I have read all of your books and this one just left me like "DAMN" this is heavy. At first I didn't like the ending but then I got to thinking. The ending was perfect.

Summary: Nice, easy read...
Review: Hmmm...this is a nice, easy read and totally different from his previous works. I sense that Mr. Dickey has toned it down a lot and I liked that. Not too much cussing, ghetto characters, nor vulgar sex scenes. Though it's not one of his best, I enjoyed it just as much.

Summary: Who wrote this book???
Review: I have loved all of EJD's books...except this one. It was so boring, so implausible, so poorly written and just so pointless. I was very disappointed and let down. It was nothing like any of EJD's other books. Eric, what happened???

Summary: Told with Intensity....................
Review: I've had the opportunity to read 54 reviews of EJD's latest addition to the contemporary market and felt compelled to give my opinion on the book in hopes that it might assist other potential readers to understand Between Lovers. Simply put, the novel is "fiction". It's imaginative with creativity and not necessarily written based upon any real truth.

Between Lovers is a "love triangle" that happen to be narrated by a man who allowed himself to love openly. Was he a wimp? I don't believe so. What I do believe is that "he" believed he loved Nicole more than life itself. He gave her his heart and the depth of love that's infinite. We may not all believe this to be possible in our "real worlds", but perhaps to this character, he actually loved her that deeply "and" without boundaries. Love is not something that you turn on and off when you have a bad day or your mate disappoints you. The narrator truly knows and understands "his" degree of love.

Are some of the scenes in Between Lovers.........out there? That depends on what you like. But when considering the narrator and again his depth of love for Nicole..............absolutely ANYTHING was possible for him. Was it intense? Without a doubt............but intensity is what you make it.

Could EJD have done some things differently or told the story more to my liking? Maybe....maybe not............nonetheless it doesn't take away the level of creativity that EJD has to bring to his market of contemporary AA fiction. I believe that he touched on a subject that might be a little too close for comfort for some and non-affecting for others. Yet and still, it was intensly bold and very much an interesting read.

Summary: Lots of drama going on, I love it.
Review: I just finished reading Between Lovers, yesterday and I think it's great. I wonder how audobiographic this novel was supposed to be and that's why the main character was nameless. Anyway, it was an interesting read, I really rate as 4.5 star because it wasn't as juicy as Milk... But we get to see the ups and downs of these 3 lovers. The good, the bad and the ugly with an interesting twist in the very end. I also like the Eric Jerome Dickey's sense of humor, what a comedian. But maybe "writer boy" was better off taking that turn as complicated as Nicole, what a confused character. Anyway, I'd recommend this book to any E. Jerome Dickey fans.

Summary: Between Good Books
Review: Sister, Sister was the first AA fiction novel I read after years of nonfiction and religious reading, so EJD gets props from me. However, this is not his best work. Between Lovers seemed to be between common sense, although Nicole kept saying she was torn between "did he have a name"? and Ayanna, it seems she was the only one eating the cake on her plate and getting the pie in the sky. The lesbian thing was not the real issue, but finding two pyschocrazies that are so "in love" they settle for torture and frustration in the disguise of a relationship mesmerizes me. Unyeilding Christian views always adds reason for the ins and outs of sexual perference, but loving Jesus usually causes misunderstanding of the Christian view. The ending was a little weak, I would have liked to see the love light between what's his name and Tseday developed more, it would have been interesting to see the healing that got him to the end. Good to see Toyomi stopped chasing cars thru the streets.

I still luv EJD, worst rating I gave any of his books, but I will keep buying.

Summary: Incredibly taking!
Review: This was the first book I read by Eric Jerome Dickey, but it's now clear I am a fan! I've just finished reading his last novel, and it will definitely take some time before I completely recover... I just loved it (although I am a French white guy) and felt so close to the characters, so moved by the story. I even couldn't finish the last 40 pages, wondering how it would end, and hoping it would end the way I thought.... Great job, really. Sounds so real. I will definitely go get some more of Dickey's books tomorrow!!

Summary: what the???!!!
Review: what's really going on? this was just plain pornography. i was very disappointed with this latest installment from the author. i guess "liar's game" was just a hint of the impending downward slope. i hope the next book is more like "milk in my coffee" instead of "debbie does dallas".

Summary: Where do we draw the LINE?
Review: This book was really good EJD. After the first chapter i couldn't put it down. I found myself sneaking to read pages at work. I guess i can truly say i've never been in love this much..Sharing is not questionable. How far would a person go for love. Would you sacrifice losing your family, and friends, and most importantly yourself.

Summary: Heart Wrenching Read
Review: This work displays all of Eric's talents. It was hard to put down and hard to read because the characters were real. My heart was breaking for the narrator as he struggles with his love for Nicole and his sanity. I was not put off by the erotic tone because Eric did a tasteful job of drawing the reader into Nicole's world with the narrator. I was fighting for him the entire time. I was sad to see it end.

Eric, when are you coming to Boston??
