Summary: Some funny dialogue and some good action save this book.
Review: I was dissapointed by the lack of realism and and the confusing plot line. Jack Foley was a little to much of a nice guy for a guy who was probably someone's Bit?h. The movie was better. Read the book only if your a hard-core Leonard fan.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Out of Sight is strongly reccommended
Review: If you like the kind of book that has action, romance, and REAL bizarre twist and turns, you'll love Out of Sight. Reading through it, I found myself literally unable to stop reading. Elmore Leonard kept me constantly guessing right up until the climax, where he let everything loose. Also, the characters are very well described, and Elmore Leonard uses a very good vocabulary. I strongly reccommend Out of Sight to all readers who enjoy a good thriller.

Summary: A great read with surprises and humor at every corner.
Review: Leonard sets up a great story with a strange love story and a great cast of characters. This book is Leonard's best. This is a page turner that even when you finish you want to start it all over again. Once again Leonard brings you in with his dialoge and pleases you with the exciting story. Thank you Elmore ; you keep writing them and I'll keep reading.

Summary: One of my best works, but not my greatest
Review: The movie of this book, is a grand spectacle and they did a great job about adapting this. I would recommend you see the movie after you read the book as it is very good. I am planning a sequel soon.

Summary: The Best Love Story Since Sid & Nancy
Review: The best book I have read all year. From the interactions between Karen and Glen to Snoopy and White boy Bob, you get a real feel for what prison does to a man

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A SOLID, WELL-PACED TALE
Review: This was the first book I'd read by Leonard. Nothing about the book itself is revelatory or particularly illuminating, but it is a very good read. A quick, mindless yet enthralling, read populated with many great characters.

Leonard constructs a well-made yarn, wastes few words and no chapters, then ends the book. It's easy to believe this guy has produced roughly 35 books or so; his prose is tight, his dialogue crackles, and the plot was okay. He stretched the limits of believability a couple of times along the way, but I had little trouble overlooking those slips. Now, it's time to rent the movie!

Summary: Predictable
Review: The first book I've read by Leonard & it will be the last. Predictable, unrealistic & dull. Could have been written by a 9th grade student.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book! Elmore Leonard never fails!
Review: This book is one of my favorite books by Elmore Leonard. No, no, no. It IS my favorite!! It never stops and the charactors are SO cool! I love this book! Elmore Leonard is the man!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: AWESOME
Review: Leonard's "Out of Sight" was awesome. Take your time, and read every word. Put yourself in the scenes. His prose is so realistic you think you are "in" the book. People in big cities like Miami and Detroit really talk like that. Read it.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not as good as the movie
Review: OK, I know one shouldn't really compare novels and the movies that are made from them. And if you do, you should probably read the book first.

I saw the movie version of this book before I read it. The movie was more nuanced, had a better plot, and more fully realized characters. The book is good airplane reading, not too demanding. But I was a little disappointed.
