Summary: A most lovely book about life, love and betrayal.
Review: A wonderful story about Benny Hogan and Eve Malone, two girls from Knockglen who met with Jack Foley (a handsome doctor's son) and the lovely Nan Mahon. The four of them became friends, infact Benny and Jack soon became lovers. Benny's dream however was shattered when she realized Jack had an affair with Nan. Unkown to Jack, the baby she was about to have wasn't his, it was belong to Simon Westward, Eve's cousin.

Summary: LOVED IT!!!
Review: This book is one of the greatest books I have ever read. I feel for the charcters and grow to love Benny as though she were me. I remember when I read it for the first time, when Jack slept with Nan I shouted out "Bastard" without knowing I was speaking aloud. I recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: This book has so much qualities!!!
Review: Maeve Binchy puts so much life and attitude into each character that it was hard to stop thinking about them after I was done reading. I keep thinking how and why did all the problems happen, as if it was my life I was pondering. My heart was broken when Benny's heart was. I could understand Eve's protective feelings and fun-loving Jack, a character who I still love and am angry at. There are many everyday behaviors, problems, understandings and results combine to make this book feels like an expensive treasure.

Summary: Thank God for Maeve!
Review: I admit to buying the book because I knew Chris O'Donnell was starring in the movie of the same name. After reading it, I'm so glad that I bought it, and I must say the movie really didn't do enough towards the real spirit of the book (even though Chris looked so cute in it).Benny is a true modern woman. For all you girls out there, this is a great Cinderella-sy story but with a more powerfull and feministic ending. A must read, it will have you addicted for more.

Summary: The book was captivating, the movie was tripe . . .
Review: I've read this one again and again . . . it's like a snug quilt and a warm cup of tea on a blustery day. Few writers can create characters the way Binchy can. A pity they had to make a movie of it. Maeve Binchy is the antithesis of Danielle Steele - and thank God for that

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Every type of friendship and love is depicted - and well
Review: This brilliant book examines friendship and love in various forms, and does it with a simplicity and charm that is captivating.
...I won't waste words on the dreadful film version, which, in total, consists of the stale "will she or won't she" joke.

Summary: A page-turner book!
Review: Circle of Friends is a book that keeps you turning the pages from beginning to end. There is always something there that keeps you reading. The book is about friendship, love, life, and growing up through the eyes of young girl who tries to see the good in everyone. The story is set in the mid 1900s at a little town in Ireland. It's written in such a way that you never really know what is going to happen, and just when you think you do, it changes and the book goes on. It all ties together at the end to make a finale to an enjoyable reading experience, with a unexpected ending that leaves you wanting for more.

Summary: Very Good indeed!
Review: It was slow in the beginning, and I almost put it down, but I have had some real life experiences that were included in this book, and for some unknown reason, I kept reading it. I am so glad that I did....but anyone that does not have patience, I wouldn't recommend it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The book every female should read. I give it 5 thumbs up!
Review: Bravo Maeve Binchy! This book drew me in like a magnet. I couldn't put it down. Binchy did a magnificent job telling the story of young Benny becomming a woman and realizing that a man is not what she really needs. I reccomend this book to any reader with an open heart and a wild imagination
