Rating: Summary: Warning -- You Will Regret Reading this Ridiculous Book. Review: This is a stupid story that makes no sense. There are too many coincidences and nothing adds up. It's just a padded fairy tale with the requisite happy ending. I truly hated this book.First off, I hated that stupid Sondra for abandoning that baby. What a dangerous and sick thing to do! I also hated the unbelievable caretakers of the child for the next 7 years. Another thing that irked me was how Willie and Alvirah appeared out of nowhere claiming to be angels. It was never explained how they just happened to know who Sondra and her baby were. Where did they REALLY come from and just who would fall for this? There is nothing to like about this book. Clark has written winners, but this is a loser. This book is just a waste of time. Learn from our mistakes, us, the reviewers and DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS BOOK! IF SOMEBODY OFFERS IT TO YOU, GRAB YOUR HAT AND HEAD FOR THE NEAREST DOOR AND DON'T LOOK BACK!
Rating: Summary: very good Review: this is the first time that i have read and alvirah and willy story and i found it to be very wonderful. i liked this book because the main character (alvirah and willy) were not these young hansom couple. they were old and they weren't drop dead gorgeuos old couple. they were REAL PEOPLE! i myself am only 14 and not a drop dead gorgeous teen...i'm real...i'm not ugly but i'm not a super model...you see what i'm saying...well anyways back to the main point it was suspensful and a wonderful, loving, tear jerker book! i sugest: We'll meet agian, the cradel will fall and diffently REMEBER ME, ALL AROUND THE TOWN AND THE BEST OF ALL THE BEST 'A CRY IN THE NIGHT'
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK WOULD MAKE GOOD COMPOST MATERIAL Review: This story is lame. It is stupid and predictable. I didn't like it and found it to be nothing more than a silly little fairy tale. I agree with the people who said it was too expensive for not enough real reading material and that it belongs in the garbage can. Instead of adding waste to waste, how about recycling the paper that was wasted in creating this book? How about using this drivel for the compost heap and maybe really yielding a literary harvest? How about sending this book to the out of print file ASAP? This is one really bad and pitiful book. And yes, how do Willie and Alvirah appear out of nowhere calling themselves angels? This story is about as realistic as mythology. It is not good.
Rating: Summary: All through the Night Review: This was a good book, but i think that it could have been a little faster paced. Through out most of the book it's slow, but sort of fast. It is a confusing book at times. The plot is very real; you can almost visualize it in your mind like you are there. The characters are relistic too. In this book it is almost like there are two stories being told, but somehow they all manage to come together. It talks about howthis mother leave her new born child in front of a church and wants the priest to give her a good home, but there is so much more going on in that one day when she decides to leave the child there. About seven years later she returns to New York in hope of finding her child, which she had left there over seven years ago. Her grandfather had helped her through a lot and now she was in a good school where she playes the violin. Her grandfather knew nothing about the child ever being concived, but when he finds out he is still there for her, like always. I would have liked to give the book four stars because it was a good book and i liked it but there seemed like there was something missing, or that it was just a slow book to me.
Rating: Summary: Great Christmas Story Review: Very good. Great plot that keeps you riveted until the end. Slightly less suspenseful than some of Higgins Clark's other books. Cute ending. I'd recomend it to amyone 14 and up.
