Rating: Summary: Great story Review: I really enjoyed this book. It's a quick, fast-paced read with only a few dull courtoom scenes. I highly recommend this one.
Rating: Summary: really good book, with so-so ending Review: I'm a big Phillip Margolin fan and I was a little shocked at the really high praises this book was getting. I personally enjoyed GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN and AFTER DARK more than this one. Not to say that I thought this was a bad book... I just felt the end was a little abrupt. I enjoyed the way David Nash's nemesis used legal means in order to torture Nash, which eventually manifests into Nash's own self-destruction. But, I would've enjoyed it more had Nash been able to outwit or entrap the perpetrator rather then get lucky.
Rating: Summary: Compelling . a must read for any law student Review: In addition to generate an ethical debate about the defense of crime offenders, entertains, providing other key elements like deep suspense, romance and police procedures. The author is skilled enough to pop deep suspense out of simple elements and as a result of that the plot becomes a blend of debate and mistery. I enjoyed it very much and could not put it down. This book is an example on how using simple everyday situations and characters a good work can be created.
Rating: Summary: Good thriller set against a series of coincidences Review: Margolin comes through with a book that keeps the pages turning but at times I wondered about the series of incredible coincidences that linked all of the characters together (I won't go into them here, for fear of revealing too much of the plot for those who have not yet read the book).
ARe you looking for a book that leads the protaganist through a series of difficult choices until finally everything is forced to come to a head? Than this is your book. However, be aware that you'll be forced to suspend your sense of disbelief from time to time as well.
Rating: Summary: A thriller to remember Review: My hat is off to Mr Margolin, who composed one of the finest thrillers ever written. This outstanding book takes you through the courtroom and puts the protagonist into personal danger as he battles the most evil man outside of Max Cady in John D. MacDonald's "Cape Fear". I figured the murders out about halfway into the book, but that did not diminish my joy in reading how the protagonist would survive this nightmare. In a nutshell, our hero also knows who the bad guy is, but is helpless to do anything about it. You too will feel his anguish as he attempts to come up with some way to stop the killer before he kills again.

Rating: Summary: What happens to lawyers who continually defend the guilty Review: Phillip Margolin has done it again, this time he puts you inside the lawyers head. The big-time lawyers who are always defending the gulity that have enough money (OJ). Well this time it back fires, If you would like to see what could possibly happen to Johnnie Cochran this is a must read
Rating: Summary: Innocent Client -- Guilty Lawyer Review: The Last Innocent Man is a thought provoking thriller that gives Margolin an opportunity to present the moral debate that defense attorneys must go through in defending people accused of indefensible crimes and antisocial behavior. David Nash is a defense attorney who is suffering burn out when he meets a mysterious young woman at a party and takes her back to his house. The next day when he realizes that he wants to see her again, she is no where to be found, surfacing only when her husband is accused of killing a policewoman who was posing as a prostitute. The wife swears that her husband was with her at the time the crime took place, and David agrees to take the defense in spite of his reservations about their involvement. All the while he is trying to come to grips with having successfully defended some guilty clients who will undoubtedly hurt others again as soon as they are free. My review is not nearly as gripping as the book was to read. This is my second book by Phillip Margolin and I am looking forward to my third which will be "Gone But Not Forgotten." In a world full of good legal thriller authors, he is one of the best in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: You can't go wrong with Margolin! Review: This book is excellent. Margolin holds your interest from the beginning and leaves you begging for more. The Last Innocent Man is a superb read!
