Summary: I laughed out loud
Review: As a flight attendant I just could not enjoy this book because so much was so wrong!! The author obviously doesn't know anything about being a flight attendant. The main character hooks up with a guy by closing his arm in the door of an aircraft, and she isn't aware of it until he tells her! If this were ever to happen it would gross negligence on the part of the flight attendant. The captain makes an anouncement in flight for the flight attendants to prepare doors for landing, which is ridiculous, doors are armed and disarmed on the ground. There are so many mistakes like this that it distracted me from the story. This book is so full of cliches it's maddening.

Summary: Running Out Of Time
Review: Baggage Claim is a hilarious novel of one woman's quest to be married. Being brought up brainwashed by tradition, Montana Moore was taught you weren't a woman until you were married. When she gets the shocking news that her youngest sister Sheree is getting married, Montana is forced with thirty days to find a husband while she flies miles around the country as a flight attendant.

Strangled by her fears of other people's perceptions, Montana races to find love everlasting from city to city and state to state while her love was there all along. Talbert has done a stupendous job creating his characters. They are comical and the emotions of the characters draw you in.

Although I enjoyed this book, I became quite irritated with the repeating of words to emphasize the emotion. It wasn't so much as redundancy as it appears to be his style of writing. I thought there were far too many clichés as well as sentences that rhyme. It is definitely great stage writing, but for literary purposes, it was a bit much. However, I am not turned off by Mr. Talbert's work. I would surely pick up another novel written by him.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a little laughter as they wind down at the end of their day. This book will keep you turning the pages as you giggle your day to day grim away.

Summary: Good job for 1st time novel writting
Review: I must first say, "I have seen all of D.E. Talbert's plays and have enjoyed them tremendously." That's what prompt me to read his book. The book was very good & easy reading. It sort of had a typical ending but, other than that, it was good reading.

Summary: Cute but not great..
Review: It didn't take me long to read this book, but I did do some skimming in a few areas. This book was ok...not necessarily great. If I had purchased this book instead of checking it out from the library, I would have been mad.

Summary: Nice transition from Gospel Plays
Review: Meet Montana Moore, the heroine of BAGGAGE CLAIM. She is a 35-year old airline stewardess who has been jinxed by the Moore Family Curse. She is over 25 without a husband and not one prospect. The pressure really builds when her younger sister Sheree announces her engagement. If Sheree gets married Montana will be the last "single Moore woman" alive. Montana decides to take things into her own hands and with the help of her friends embarks on a 20 day, 8 hour 30 minute journey to find Mr. Right. After a total makeover she is ready to rendezvous with the five eligible "husband's" chosen from her black book.

From her first date to her last we get some of the greatest laughs. From hiding from a crazy booty call to not being chaste enough to be a First Lady, Montana shows us just how far some women have to go to get a man.

BAGGAGE CLAIM, does a lot more than entertain you. It makes you really realize what is and isn't important in life. You are going to meet some unforgettable characters that will teach you some of life's most important lessons.

Summary: Always on the move
Review: Montana Moore was always on the move, trying to find that person that would walk down the aisle with her. She logged in more time on the airplane aisle than down the church aisle. Always the bridesmaid but never the bride. I loved her relationship between her and her friend Sam. Also, the conversations between Sam and Gail will just keep you laughing. Never a dull moment between those two. This book is a fast read and very entertaining.

Summary: Always A Bridesmaid, Never A Bride
Review: Renowned playwright, David E. Talbert makes a grand entrance into the publishing arena with debut release, Baggage Claim. Talbert's quick-witted dialogue and zany characters provide front row entertainment for an otherwise preposterous romance.

According to the women in Montana Moore's family, you are not a lady until you marry and not a woman until you have birthed at least two children. At thirty-five years of age, flight attendant Montana Moore is neither and with meager prospects. Baby sister, Sheree, announces her engagement to a promising physician and this sends our protagonist on a thirty-thousand mile expedition, with thirty days to charm a potential suitor into her fiancé. With the aid of cronies, Sam and Gail , Montana is whisked off to the Big Apple for an overdue makeover and begins her search high in the friendly skies from New York to California in search of prince charming.

Whom will she choose? Damon Diesel, a P. Diddy wanna-be; Reverend Curtis P. Merewether and his colorful wardrobe; pompous Councilman, Langston Jefferson Battle III; or Quinton Jamison, brandishing trinkets and a trip around the world. The clock is ticking as Montana finds her prospects are as wacky as her plan and true love could possibly be worth waiting for.

Outrageously funny...witty and charming, Baggage Claim is a must read. From the onset, Talbert lured me in with the prologue and captured me with chapter one. Talbert's debut reminds me of the adage, "never judge a book by its cover." I highly recommend Baggage Claim. Chick lit does not get any better than this!
