Rating: Summary: Truly outstanding writing, not her norm! Review: Linda Howard has truly out done herself with All the Queen's Men. The intensity between John and Neema has heighten my desire to want to see more stories between them. Their inter-reaction between each other was funny, but surreal. I felt Neema's delimma about Rosard's problem it made me think what I would do in his position. I hope Linda writes another book regarding these two characters. The ending left you thinking that she intends to! Definelty a re-again book.
Rating: Summary: Great Adventure, Great Romance Review: This book reminds me a little of Midnight Rainbow for catagory, though, as usual, the characters and the plot are not stock. Despite the clamor from her readers, Linda Howard, thank goodness, has once again refused to be pigeonholed into rewriting her last five books. She's written mysteries, spy stories, westerns, time-travel, supernatural, and medieval novels -- and done them all well. This is a really good romance -- the plot turns on the romantic element. It is also a fine adventure. It is not Tom Clancy, but if you want that, read Tom Clancy. Ms Howard writes, as always, like herself, with tough, smart heroines who refuse to step back and let their strong/hero lovers protect them. Do yourself a favor and buy the hardback.
Rating: Summary: Great Linda Howard Book Review: Linda Howard understands all her characters so well! This was a perfect story line for John Medina.
Rating: Summary: tired adventure Review: I was disappointed in this book, and that's a first for something by Linda Howard. It has a great opening, but somehow never seems to get offthe ground. I felt I never got to know the heroine, her background, the details of her life, all the things that have made other Howard female characters so compelling. I await her next book.
Rating: Summary: Good story, great characters but I need more ROMANCE! Review: I really enjoyed Howard's latest. The story kept me intrigued and the so did the characters. My only complaint is that the ending seemed so thrown together. I could have read at least another hundred pages that got more involved with the romance between John and Niema. At least there still is romance in Howard's books unlike Iris Johannsen who has totally abandoned her romance readers to go mainstream. I'm still mad about that!! Now I would like to see Howard write another with the Mackenzie family. Those are always keepers. Warning: Stay far, far away from All That Glitters. That is one Linda Howard book that I would throw in the garbage. It's horrible!
Rating: Summary: Kudos for Linda Howard! Review: Linda Howard is one of my favorite authors and I was not disappointed by her latest book. John and Niema made a wonderful couple. Although her style has changed a bit from her earlier books, I still think that she's ones of the best romance authors out there. The book has just the right combination of adventure, humor, and of course, wonderfully written sex scenes.BRAVO, Linda Howard!!! I look forward to A GAME OF CHANCE (Chance MacKenzie's story)!
Rating: Summary: Great story, it was worth waiting for Review: I've never read a Linda Howard book that I didn't like, and this one is no different. It may not have had the romantic focus of some of her past books, but no one can accuse her a becoming formulaic (insert three love scenes at 50 page intervals, etc.) I never know what to expect, except for a fun read.
Rating: Summary: Linda, Congratulation. Review: "All The Queen's men" is the best one
Rating: Summary: Could we please make that 6 stars? Review: Linda Howard has advanced from the pure romance category to the mystery-suspense category with great sex thrown in. I'm not complaining. We have a great alpha type hero AND a heroine who can take care of herself. She's resourceful, competent, logical, and she manages to take of him. Ms. Howard must have great fantasies and thanks to her, I am too.
Rating: Summary: Not just a romance, but a story of turning points Review: I really enjoyed this story of Niema and John. Niema has grown by the end of the book and sees that she needs to move beyond her past. John has taken a chance and trusted another person with himself. Eric's name is mentioned twice in the book but hardly more than to snag you! Louis and especially for me, Laure are people I want to see again and hope they overcome the problems that Laure faces. Even Cara Smith looked like a character that had the opportunity to grow. Maybe not, but maybe! For the reviewer that wants Chance MacKenzie he is going to be out in midyear 2000 as a Silhouette Intimate Moments. No info on title yet. Happy reading!
