Rating: Summary: Why Buy This Book? Review: All the information is on TV.
I particularly dislike the fact she claims that
she lost money through her association with Mr.
Simpson. She made over $3 million from this book. Do a search on her name in www.amazon.com.
No one published a book by her before
her association with Mr. Simpson nor was her
income anywhere near this amount.
Rating: Summary: A woman in denial OR scared to death of OJ Review: Haven't read the book yet, but gave it a 5 rating because I assume it will fall into the typical category of wormen coming froom abusive relationships and how they "survived." Curious to see this woman's "world of denial". Either that or she's just so afraid of OJ she won't admit he's guilty even though the world knows he is. And what about those jail visits? Could maybe a deal have been struck that OJ get a percentage of the sale of her book?

Rating: Summary: DULLSVILLE Review: I did peruse the book -- and it's as vapid as both the authoress and her subject. A more honest subtitle would have been "My last chance to make some money off this saga". The authoress doesn't have two brain cells to rub together. She could have talked to the prosecuters and made a difference, but chickened out. This book's a sorry waste of trees
Rating: Summary: pure lack of intellect and judgement Review: I don't know how someone could be so naive and promiscuous to beleive that OJ is a good man. Before reading this book, i read the 'reader reviews' to see what others thought of it. I read how bad this book was, but i was curious as to how naive this woman really was, i loaned the book from the local library. Even with the heads up from the reviews as to how much this book was lacking, i was still shocked at its content. i could not bring myself to read the rest of the book, therefore i only read the first half. so if the second half makes up for the first half's pure lack of thought, i give Paula credit for writing a good book...on second thought, even if the second half of the book made up for the first half, i still would not give her any credit for writing this...literature..if you can call it that. she didn't lose money from all of this, (as much as i would like to think this is not true) she earned 3 million dollars from it. if i were in Ms. Barbieri's shoes, i know one thing i would do is take my $3million, buy a private island and keep as far away from civilization as possible, to avoid any further humiliation from the public. and i would burn any of these books i owned to keep warm on my island, thats about the best use they have.
Rating: Summary: Gawd, what a joke! Review: I had to quit halfway through the book, it was so ridiculous. Is she promiscuous and naive or is it just me??? And how MUCH can you really go on believing that sweet Mr. Simpson is innocent? Get a clue, but more importantly, Ms. Barbieri, GET A LIFE!!!
Rating: Summary: Give Paula A Break Review: I live in Panama City, FL and I know Paula personally. I read excerpts from this book and I feel Paula speaks the truth. As a Born-Again Christian myself (and an Assembly of God lay minister), Paula told me her testimony. To this day, I belive O.J. was innocent (I'm white, by the way), but I feel he had no one to blame but his own self; for the civil downfall. Paula tells the true story and I commend her for it.
Rating: Summary: 200+ pages of rehashed trash Review: In portraying herself to be the victim of numerous betrayals by O.J Simpson, rather than evoke sympathy and understanding from her readers, the author merely succeeds in proving herself to be weak, materialistic, and as morally bereft as her lover. Given the amount of money made from the sale of this book, it is impossible to conjure up any sympathy for how this relationship "cost her everything." Because of her willing involvement in the events following the murders, I found her many references to faith, spirituality, and strong religious beliefs to be hollow and meaningless. Fortunately, her readers will not be as blind or easily misled as the jurors who acquitted O.J.
Rating: Summary: Lapidary insight from America's preeminent moral philosopher Review: In the 3/11/99 version of the online magazine Slate, journalist Christopher Buckley says Barbieri was given a $3 million advance for this book. Taking into account dozens of generations of yet-unborn Barbieri-quoting grade school students, the savvy reader will agree (I'm sure) that Ms. Barbieri was robbed by her publisher. An injustice nearly on the scale of the appallingly unfair O.J. frame-up...
Rating: Summary: A waste of time Review: Ms. Barbieri unfortunately tells us almost nothing that was not already known about Simpson or the murders. In fact, her comments are mostly pop psychology, vapid, nonsense: for example, she is the sort of woman who sees philosophical wisdom in the lyrics of Michael Bolton songs. She is the sort who recommends Biblical morality while going against it. It's too bad. There's no real discussion as to why she can't say whether or not Simpson killed two people. Sure, he lied to the author of this book repeatedly and was angry if she challenged him. Sure, he became almost violent with her--of course, she wasn't married to him yet. But the writer (assuming she wrote a single word of it) just can't make up her mind. Instead she favors us with blather. Stick with modeling, Miss Barbieri. It's apparently your only talent
