Summary: Our beloved pets sustain us, heal us and fill us with joy!
Review: A week ago, I spoke with a total stranger stuck deep in the bowels of a call center thousands of miles away. Being a veterinarian of over 20 years, we're very perceptive at "knowing something's wrong." So, jumping off of the hamster wheel we call "life," abet for a few mintues, I found out that she was living all alone---her husband had left her, her children were off at college---and she was feeling very VERY lonely.

"Do you have a pet I asked?" "No," she said, "I love them too much and can't go through the pain of losing another one." "Can anything be worse than the pain you're experiencing of not sharing your life with another four-legged family member," I implored, "What besides a precious pet can give you the unbundant, life-enhancing gifts of love, loyalty and laughter? "Nothing," she bemoaned.

"YOU NEED TO GET ANOTHER PET!,I said, giving her permission to, once again, open up her heart and home. I told her that a new pet would never replace the one that passed, it would only serve to expand the heart. I told her that if you've loved many pets, like she had, that you're heart is very big.

That day she went out and bought a copy of Chicken Soup for the Cat & Dog Lover's Soul. She said opening up the book was liking holding a joyuous reunion of all her past pets! Instantly, the faces and memories came flooding back. And the race for the cure for her emptyness began.

She logged onto Petfinder.com and found love on the Internet. Love in the form of, not a Don Juan, but a Dog Juan. That's the name of her new soul mate; a cocktail pet blended of one mother and several fathers.

The Bond, that nebulous but easily understood phenomenon that we pet lover's feel for our pets was working it's magic, 24/7 again.

In May is National Be Kind To Animals Week, National Pet Week, the Million Mutt March in Washington D.C. etc.

If you know someones who loves their pets like family, celebrate it with the gift of this book. For someone, who needs some Pet Prozac, but just doesn't know it, this book may be just what the doctor ordered!

Love to your pets and you!

Summary: heartwarming stories...
Review: Even if you aren't a big reader of the "Chicken Soup" series, you will still like this book. The stories are great and you can just pick the book up anytime and pretty much read a section at random. Fun to keep on the coffee table, or as a gift book for animal lovers.

Summary: inspirational to tears and a smile
Review: I cannot even begin to explain how encouraging and heartwarming this book is to me!! I keep it by bed side, and when I am down and out I read a story and before the end I am either getting chills from the miraculous events being foretold or drying my eyes because I could relate to a particular hardship that some one had endured and perservered. People some times dont give animals enough credit... They have been able to heal the human spirit and rescue their owners at a substantial cost to their own selves without even wavering!! WE should be inspired to be SO GIVING ourselves. Last night I read a story about a pet who could have escaped fatal danger by simple means, but dug his way to his owner and alerted them of the danger, that would've killed them. WOW! He actually injured himself in the process. These kind of stories helps us become better people! Than Q to CSFTS.

Summary: Chicken Soup for the Cat & Dog Lover's Soul
Review: I got the book as a Christmas gift and found myself transported to warm memories of pets, past, present and future. I found the book to be like looking in someone's emotional diary; sharing their most intimate, special moments of sharing their lives fully with a beloved pet. I bought ten copies of the book and gave it as a new millennium gift to all the pet lover's in my life and I'm prould to report that the praises, thank you's and high-fives keep coming my way. If you love your pets like family, and are tired of fiction or stories of gloom and doom, add this book to your shopping cart!

Summary: A Must-Have for Anyone Who Remotely Loves Animals
Review: I had always loved animals, but I had never exactly been aware of the magic that takes place between humans and animals. Then I read this book. This book deepened my respect for all kinds of animals, not just cats and dogs. Not only are the stories amazing, but in the back is a section where you can get information on pets, and part of the profits from this book go to animal-related causes. This book is a must-have!

Summary: Pet owners: Read this book
Review: I had never really been "close" to my cat before. He was very sweet and affectionate but I must say I always thought people who were so in love with their animals were a little strange. However, when I read this boom I began to realize just how much my cat actually meant to me and how much I really did love him. It made me realize that he really was a big oart of my life and he had grown to be part of the family. Anyone who loves their pets will love this book and find themsleves a little more close to their pets.
