Summary: Who is Arthur Donovan? Do you mean Archer???
Review: I was a bit confused by the review of Pearl Cove that I read. I have read both Jade Island and Amber Beach and I don't remember an Arthur Donovan. Do you mean Archer??? Or is this some brother that was never introduced before? I thought their names were Archer, Kyle, Justin and Lawe; with the two twin girls Honor and Faith.

Review: Every "not yet published" book I have checked today has a glowing 5 Star review by Harriet K. How can a book that is not yet published be reviewed and how can they all be 5 star?

Summary: A pearl of a romantic intrigue
Review:

When her paraplegic spouse Len McGarry is murdered during a storm that rocks Broome, Australia, a frightened Hannah calls her husband's silent partner Arthur Donovan for protection. With the backing of his family's international company, Arthur almost immediately leaves Seattle and arrives in Broome in about fifteen hours. Both think back to seven years ago when Arthur saved both their lives and that of his half-brother Len during a third world deal that went bad. Len became paralyzed from the waist down during their escape. Afterward, Len violently told Arthur to never return.

Arthur quickly learns that everyone seems to be after special pearls that Len apparently managed to breed. Though their company, PEARL COVE, is nearly bankrupt, all the international players want control of it. As Arthur and Hannah investigate, they fall in love. However, she cannot see him as anything but a copy of her hated deceased spouse and refuses to allow anything permanent to happen between them.

The third novel in the Donovan series is a superb contemporary romance that is filled with suspense and intrigue. The story line never allows readers a chance to catch their breath as it speeds forward to its climax. The lead characters are warm and intelligent, and the support cast returns players from the two previous tales (see AMBER BEACH and JADE ISLAND). Best selling author Elizabeth Lowell has struck gold with this entire series that hopefully will continue with a story centered on Arthur's sister.

Summary: MARVELOUS - A SURE BET
Review: "Pearl Cove" is one of those rare books that you can read again and again without a lessening of your enjoyment. The complex and intelligent plot, interesting characters, and sensual by-play all combine to create one incredible story. Romance and suspense are given in equal parts, and the one enhances rather than diminishes the other. I highly recommend this book. Ms. Lowell writes about the pearl trade with a passion and fascination that leaves you wanting to know even more about a subject you were previously unintersted in. Her handling of main character Archer Donovan's long-unrequited love for a woman abused by her former husband is expert, comforting, hopeful and passionate. I hope to see books on all of the Donovan brothers in future. Bravo, Elizabeth!

Summary: Not my favorite...
Review: I was really looking forward to Archer's book but kind of felt let down. Hannah just didn't do it for me, I got tired of her whining that Archer was just like Len when the proof that he wasn't anything like him kept staring her in the face. Any sympathy that I had for her ended up lost as she continued her broken record chant, you're just like him. I was at the point where I wanted him to dump her and hook up with April Joy. I hope that with as EL has a book planned for April - it's about time she gets her own 'slick' and she'd be a true heroine that you could cheer for. I think Archer deserved better.

Summary: Great, but not perfect
Review: Overall this is a great read. I agree with most reviewers here that this is the best of the Donovan series. Actions, triads, lust, and pearls make a fascinating story, although I must admit that I skipped the pearl parts until the third time I read the novel. I also feel that Hannah is somehow not what I imagined for Archer`s soul-mate. Despite the author`s best attempts to portray her as a survivor with guts, integrity and pearl expertise, she pales besides Archer`s character in depth and strength. I would prefer someone more vibrant, more fiery, a little dangerous, and in a competitive situation with Archer rather than needing his protection -- in fact, I thought Archer and April Joy could make a very interesting storyline. Well, I suppose that is not Ms. Lowell`s style....

Summary: Very Entertaining
Review: I am a big Elizabeth Lowell fan and recommend all the books in this jewel series. They are all great! The books center around the rich and powerful Donovan family and, in particular, the adult children whose specialties revolve around different gems. This book involves the oldest brother, Archer, and Hannah (his half-brother's wife) who calls him for help with their pearl farm. Thus begins their adventure. This book is a mix of romance and suspense and kept me interested.
