Summary: What an education!
Review: A fabulous read and I know a lot more about pearls than when I picked up the book. I absolutely love the Donovans! With enough pressure from fans, maybe Ms. Lowell will reconsider ending the series with Faith. Who doesn't want to meet Lawe & Justin? And how did The Donovan build his empire? I've learned more from Elizabeth Lowell in this series about gems and jewellery than I ever could have anywhere else!

Summary: Dissapointing
Review: Character development was really poor. Hannah's "I want protection and sex, but no marriage" was out of character. And the book is too much like the other ones in the serious. My favorite EL is still "Fire and Rain." I could believe that those two would like each other

Summary: Get your research right.
Review: It really bugs me to see otherwise good writers who fail to research a topic properly. In this book Ms Lowell makes a lot of references to Hong Kong. As part of the background she refers to HK's return to China which she notes is commonly referred to as the 'turnover'. It makes us sound like an apple pie! As anyone who has researched HK will know it is actually called the 'handover'. In addition her references to 'communist exhortations' in the newspapers are also strange! China does not have total control of the press here, and we certainly do not see the rhetoric that she refers to as part of our daily press diet. The trouble is that when things like that are incorrect it makes me wonder what other facts she has got wrong, and otherwise fascinating facts on pearls that are listed in this book become, at least to me, somewhat suspect.

Summary: Can't help but love Elizabeth Lowell books
Review: I do enjoy books by Ms Lowell and Pearl Cove is another on that list. I find myself fascinated by those Donovan siblings. The story of Archer is a great one. I have always had a soft spot for stories about unrealized or unrequited love. I am looking forward to more books containing the stories of the remaining Donovan siblings.

Summary: Definitely the best in the series
Review: I've read Amber Beach, Jade Island, and now Pearl Cove, and this was by far my favorite of the three. I definitely found Archer and Hannah to be the most engaging protaganists of these books. Of course, I also enjoyed revisiting the past heroes and heroines, as well! One of the things I've enjoyed about all these books was the incredible amount of background information about amber, jade, and pearls. That's one of the things I find the most interesting about Ms. Lowell's books - her ability to weave intriguing information seamlessly into the plot. A wonderful read - I couldn't put it down!

Summary: Educational Experience!
Review: I can't say that the romance was good but I think the author deserves extra credit for her detailed research on the subject of pearls. Of the three 'Donovan family' books i've read so far, Pearl Cove is the best! None of the other two books give such clear descriptions of the various aspects of the gemstones, in this case, the cultivation of pearls. the author got me so curious that I embarked on a little research to see how far she went and also, the credibility of certain parts of the book. A strike for Lowell! I never had a 'romance' writer interest me into reading more about a certain subject before! However, I think that the beauty of rainbow pearls are much overrated. Afterall, it is one's preference that counts(I think I prefer the peacock black pearls).

Summary: From the male perspective
Review: Knowing the thoughts, feelings and uncertanties of Ms. Lowell's incredible heroes makes this particular story much more romantic and moving. Women already know a woman's reactions and takes on situations, but knowing that what strong and seemingly invinsible men feel is the real spice.

Summary: Pleased with the latest enstallment
Review: Lowell manages again to maintain a family of diverse people with various talents who love and support each other. This is probably the best of the Donovan saga books, richer in plot and character development than a previous book. Details concerning the pearl and pearl industry enrich the reader's knowledge, substantiate the author's notion of reality-based fiction and attention to detail, and make the book more than just a romance. Settings are carefully and completely described, characters are well defined and behave within the realms of expectation and plot twists often enough to pull the reader in deeper. An overall great read from an author who excells at her craft.

Summary: Hmmmmm
Review: After the first two books I swore never to read this one but i did for I do like her books, however I think she goes on to much about Pearls, Jade or whatever, so much to the point that i skip through some pages. This book was great, I just wish she didnt have to go on about Pearls. Who cares!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Wonderful book. Classic Lowell
Review: I enjoyed the book. It was more originally erotic than Lowell's most recent novels. I loved the characters. They were vintage Lowell. I recommend this book, best of the trilogy!
