Rating: Summary: The Flight 800 incident has a potential impact on everyone. Review: For some excellent reading on a topic of importance to EVERYONE, "The Downing of TWA Flight 800" by James Sanders gets my heartily enthusiastic recommendation. (My personal copy of the book has a waiting list of friends who are eager to read it.) He has done his homework; and, has broken through several layers of government coverup. He includes the complete text of the NTSB engineering analysis of the explosion; so, you can make up your own mind from the raw data, and draw your own informed conclusion as to what happened. James Sanders has shown a lot of guts in putting out this book. In December of 1997, both he and his wife were arrested by the FBI, and charged with conspiring to steal evidence. That charge stems from the fact that someone working inside the hanger where the aircraft was rebuilt had smuggled a swatch of cloth from one of the seats in the forward part of the passenger cabin. That cloth contained something the Feds don't want you to know about. What did it contain? I don't want to spoil the fun of discovery! Buy the book, and read it for yourself. On Saturday, 22 Aug 98, James Sanders revealed to me certain information that has not yet been published ANYWHERE. I am more convinced than ever that his published scenario is precisely on-target. But, you can't grasp the full "impact" of his research unless you get the book. There is one portion of Sanders' scenario that, in my opinion, was not explained in the book. For that portion, look up my own Web site. (Unfortunately, the rules prohibit me from posting the URL link here.)
Rating: Summary: The Downing of TWA Flight 800 Review: I found this to be a very intrigueing book, Mr. Sanders seems to have the evidence of a cover-up about Flight 800's tragic accident. If you are intrested in finding out about Flight 800 this is a very good book to read.
Rating: Summary: Compelling and thought-provoking Review: I have listened to the audiobook of "The Downing of TWA Flight 800" and it is truly compelling. The sad truth is that goverments do cover-up incidents and spin-doctor anything they see fit in the interest of national security. Reading some of these reviews, it is good to see that government efforts are not wasted on the naive, but James Sanders has exposed something that every citizen of the US has a right to know about...the US Navy shot down Flight TWA 800 and now is covering up its mistake. Sanders has compiled some very damning evidence. The question is how much of the evidence can be substantiated? Could the incident have been prevented? Did the US Presidency willing go along with this cover-up? These thought-provoking questions and more, are presented here, with answers only barely scratching the surface. But afterwards, despite what the US government contends, you will come away with a seed of doubt, which is very consistent with a government that lies constantly to its citizens.
Rating: Summary: Tragedy from the Top, down Review: I'd like t give a message to Mr. Steven Fontina, in the spotlight review. If it was impossible for a bunch of people (in the case, a lot of sailors) to keep secret (by "Secret" I mean not talking to the press, instead of not talking to ANYONE a person may know!, then we would not have mafia operations, the JFK conspiracy, drug traffic, government corruption, nothing. People would not do it because they would know that soon "somebody would talk...." Please, pick up another reasoning..

Rating: Summary: Wouldn't surpise me one bit Review: In Sanders book, he opens up about the lies and corruption in our government. TWA 800 was blasted out of the sky by our own military, and they know it. The FAA, the NTSB, and our own govt are all expert liars. But then again, when haven't they been? A must for all those who want the TRUTH on TWA 800
Rating: Summary: Persuasive, gutsy, and to the point! Review: James Sanders provides detailed facts, and his own theory about what happened on the ground, in the water, in the surrounding air space, and aboard doomed Flight 800 on that fateful eveing. His argument is sound and persuasive, but as with any theory, it must be scrutinized carefully. What is great about this book is that Sanders asks the same of the government's theory . . . why don't more people scrutinize what Washington is force-feeding us about this incident. A good, fast read with pictures of some evidence in the middle of the book.
Rating: Summary: Repleat with technical inconsistencies Review: Mr. Sanders is unaware that Standard Missiles used in conjunction with AEGIS Weapon Systems must maintain communications with the AN/SPY-1 radar system or they will self destruct. Additionally, they must detect reflected illumination that can only be provided by the firing platform during terminal homing in order to intercept the target.
Rating: Summary: A Very Thought Provoking Book Review: The evidence uncovered in this book was very impressive. The author was thorough in most aspects and very imformative. Having a friend who died on TWA Flight 800, I have been following the case from the moment it was telecast and the only sensible thing I have read is from this book. It seems like another of our government's cover-ups that won't be known about for probably another 30 or 40 years.
Rating: Summary: Compare this book to the media hype Review: The media and all of so-called experts only serve to prove that this book has uncovered the truth. Take this test. Read this book and come to no conclusions. Now, think back during the past two years and recount the all of the "new theories" (sat on runway too long, fuel vapors, spark in center fuel tank, emf from nearby military planes, etc) that have been slung at the public. Continue listening as the "experts" search for "new theories". Also listen closely to the actual wording used in Q & A of the NTSB, FAA, et. al. They will speak ad-nauseum regarding all of the theories except the missile. To that, the answer goes something like "We have no proof that a missile brought the plane down - next question." Ask yourself if you can remember an airliner accident that had so many theories. You will need no more proof. This book is self-proving.
