Summary: A hip hip hooray for this one
Review: Yes, Immortal was long, and yes, it dragged at points, and yes, it was one of the best Buffy books. With the Buffy/Joyce/cancer saga, we somewhat got to see the pain Buffy goes through while trying to deal with her Slayer duties and her daughter and friend duties at the same times. Veronique was a strong character whom everyone hated, despised, but also wanted to see a good fight from. The beginning of the book was long and droning, and stayed that way for about two thirds of the book, but the last third was filled with suspense, action, horror and such wonderful Buffy realness that I couldn't set it down. It may seem too long at first, but stick with it, because it's a highly rewarding book in the end.

Summary: Boring but good new characters
Review: This book was suppose to be all dramatic abut it justcame on as boring and pointless. I like the new charactersthough. Another dragged on Buffy-and-Angel-can't-be-together-book if you ask me.END

Summary: Boring and filled with gratuitous violence...
Review: This is the most boring Buffy book on the market and it is filled with gory and disgusting details that aren't necessary to the plotline. I wouldn't recommend this book to even the most diehard Buffy fans.

Summary: It was a good book
Review: This book is not one of the best, but it isn't one of the worst. My mother had the same lung surgey about 7 or 8 years ago, so I knew what Buffy was feeling, and my heart really went out to her! The chapter with Veronique back in time are really good, as are the ones with Angel. One chapter that is really cool, though, is the one where Willow channels Lucy Hanover. If you want to know why read the book. If you don't know who Lucy Hanover is you should learn more about the show, or you may be confused!

Summary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (The Immortal)
Review: I enjoyed the story I pictured every scene and detail as I would if, I was watching a movie on television. I couldn't even put the story down. I finished in a matter of hours. I think this book would be a good Buffy movie. That is as long as it's not already an episode. I felt my heart breaking as I felt Buffy Summers heartbreak as she dealed with her mother's illness. She had to choose between her mother and her work as the slayer. I believe the Buffy made the right choice. I admire the character Buffy and love her even more!

Summary: Immortal Book Review
Review: I ordered this book off the internet for christmas, but when I recieved it in the mail I automatically started reading it and my parents couldn't wrap it because I couldn't put it down. The book is great if your into things about just straight vampires and everything, but if your like me and want more of a Buffy Angel plot and about where they can't be together because Angel is a vampire....this probably wouldn't be a book for you because there was little of that. But all in all......it was a great book!

Summary: Just when you think the best can't get better
Review: This was a great book! I couldn't put it down. The character dialogue was snappy, the storylines were mesmerizing. It was good to have Cordy and Xander harping on each other again. Buffy dealing with her Mom's illness was touching and very believable. Its great the way they weave the history of the villian and also Angel's past into the book. Great action ending.

Summary: This was OK but...
Review: 5 Stars? Sorry, but if this was a show, I'd put it at a 3, at most. I'm not sorry I bought it, but let's not get carried away.

Great throwaway lines and conversations, very little plot. Neat extra characters they came up with...and didn't use very well. No suspense at all. Too much moping by the first couple of TV-Goth-Soap, no great insights into the theme of the book ( immortality, of course ), none of the interesting philosphy and metaphors that is the hallmark of the best of B.

They had potential space to say some interesting things, and didn't. It was a nice try.

I read Child of the Hunt, and that was good. I might give that 4 stars, but it was quite a bit more interesting than Immortal. I'd suggest starting there, it hit on all the points this book misses.

I'd wait for the paperback on this one, it's worth reading but don't run out and get it now.

Summary: New Buffy fan from Columbus OH 12/9/99
Review: I stumbled upon "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series this fall and am hooked(and "Angel" too). I spotted the book "Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Immortal" at the local library new book section and had to read it. Now I'm hooked on the books. This book was hard to put down. I lost a lot of sleep enjoying the story line. I enjoyed the today lingo that matched the TV Buffy's dialog nuances. I felt like I was watching the TV Buffy show in my mind's eye while reading with the added gift of knowing everyone's thoughts that only reading can provide. My only wish is that I had been a fan from the beginning of the whole story line. But catching up will be fun. The only thing I wondered about this new book published just recently, was why Buffy was still a Senior in High School when the TV series has her a Freshman in College.

Summary: Immortal beloved Buffy entertainment...
Review: Nancy Holder and Christopher Golden have done it again, except this time the story is protected with an exceptionally nice cover and hardbound. First of all, this book blows away all the previous books by the same authors. Maybe it's just me, but the storyline was believable. I could actually picture Veronique and the Three-Who-Are-One in an episode of the Slayer. The fight scenes are well described, and you're in for quite a few funny moments. The fact that Buffy's mom is sick throughout the book gives it a touch of drama (similiar to the show). The only bad things I have to say about this novel is Angel had a few things to say that I just couldn't picture him blirting-out. Don't wait for the paperback version, because this is the 1st hardback Buffy novel. Spend $16 and order it from Amazon, if the $25 (regular price) doesn't suit you. Definitely worth the money.
