Summary: My favorite!
Review: The best McNaught novel ever! This is my favorite and has read the book countless times. The story was remarkably done. I really felt all the emotions the two characters, Matt and Meredith, experienced. Only a genius like McNaught can conceive such a plot like that. A must read for any romance lover.

Summary: Almost Paradise!
Review: Judith Macnaught books are all just great picks and this one, Almost Paradise - How could you ask for more? Its just absolute piece. If you read Almost Heaven & Kingdom of Dreams, this one sure will spiral you with the sizzling romance. Its an emotional roller coaster with feelings gripping to end and passing through phases of business and betrayal. Passionately in love, the romantic hero is Matt who is out for love of Meredith and there is intense love. The lowly mechanic of Indiana steel mills dares to fall in luv with Meredith, only offspring of President of Bancroft & co.As JM grips with the story, Meredith suffers a miscarriage and anger of her dad. Meredith is forced to face Matt and there is tension, suspicion and all those bitter memories on fore. With so much drama in the novel, JM glues to make you read the plots interestingly. No wonder, the climax of the book is always a happy ending but its the expressive emotional outpours which spur emotions. After eleven years, JM brings Matt & Meredith meet to decide their fate making marvellous reading and amazingly good pick on a nice summer day. JM books are always the best romance I prefer to read after Mills n Boons & Barbara Cartland.

Summary: Paradise almost lost!
Review: I was given two Judith McNaught books and prayed they werent bodice rippers. Ms. McNaught certainly wrote something different. It was long and descriptive but intriqued as well. Meredith's relationship with her father was strange. Her relationship with Matt was HOT! The book was very interesting in many ways. Yes, the scene where Meredith explains to Matt about losing the baby will tug at any woman's heart. This book held my interest. On to Perfect.

Summary: Great Story Lousy print copy
Review: Cheap "see through" flimsy paper and blurry type made reading an irritation, not a pleasure. The superb story almost made up for it. I recommend reading a library copy. Publishers who cut corners on quality so obviously should not be rewarded.

I sincerely hope Ms. McNaught finds a quality publisher to match the superb quality and craftmanship of her story telling.

Pocket Books used to put out decent quality. I have some of their novels over thirty years old, which are yellowed but quite readable. This reprint should never have made it past quality control. For SHAME! Pocket Books

Is it possible that I got a "Pirated" book? A cheap knockoff... Readers check the print and paper quality BEFORE you buy, or you'll be vexed for the hours you read blurry type on cheap paper.

Summary: Paradise...that's what it felt like
Review: It's tough to explain, but I love JM's books so much that I actually try to get only one every time I go to the library. It's as if taking only one w/ all the other Romance books lets me remember how special and wonderful her books are. I don't want to indulge too much into them because I don't want them to end. The library, after all, only has a limited supply of books of hers, and so does the world.
I have only read 4 books by JM so far, including Paradise, but I can still appreciate how talented JM is and how wonderfully alive she has made her characters. Sometimes books are just words telling a story. Sometimes books are just words to entertain you. And, on some rare occasions, books are words weaved together to let you live and feel the story. This is one of those occasions.
In Paradise, I could understand the heroine's pain and the hero's anguish. My throat tightened and my stomach quivered with cold when I realized that they only saw the lies they had been told. It was despairing and, ultimately, sad. Throughout the whole story I kept on wishing that they would look past their hurt and believe in their love. But then, it was understood that they hurt because they loved so much.
I can truly appreciate Love when I read one of JM's books. In some books Love seems superficial; a prize that can be won only in some foreign world. But, in Paradise, the story of Matt and Meredith seems real; their life isn't candy-coated, nor seen through rosy glasses.
Meredith and Matt hate each other because of what they believe the other has done to them. The hurt they feel is understandable. The love they can't stop is fierce. In the end, can they finally give their love a chance enough to look past the bold lies of Meredith's father that left them in an artificial world for 11 years?
What I found most endearing in the story is how much Matt cared for Meredith and in how many ways he showed it. After he learned the truth, he fought for her; he didn't force her, but cared for her. And, what was most stimulating was that Matt wouldn't confess his love to Meredith because he worried it would drive her away; in truth, the unsaid words were what drove them apart...
I can't say it any more clearly. I don't want to ruin the experiences of the book for you. Just, for a few minutes, let yourself be pulled into the world of Matt and Meredith. Read Paradise (and, after that, be sure to read Perfect. Matt and Meredith are mentioned in it, along w/ a new member of their family).

Summary: All time best!!
Review: My all time favorite McNaught novel, historical or contemporary! Matt and Meredith are awesome characters, well developed and realistic. Their interaction sets off sparks, whether they are angry or admitting their love, passion is never lacking. I found all the business-speak to be interesting and the novel seemed to really flow. You have to feel for Meredith when she goes through her miscarriage, and Matt's reaction when he finds out had me in tears! I found myself crying and then laughing in disbelief a moment later as I read the terms of Matt's contract! I thought the romance of the supporting characters a bit ill-timed and crude, but the main story more than made up for that mistake! Read it, and reread it, and reread it again...this one will be on my shelf for the next 25 years...unless I have to buy a new copy! Oh, and watch out for the new covers, they fall right off!

Summary: My favorite contemporary romance!
Review: Normally I don't read contemporary; mostly I read historicals. However, I made an exception with this book because I absolutely love Judith Mucnaught's work. Put simply, I couldn't bear to put this book down! The relationship between Meredith and Matthew kept me completely enthralled! If you are looking for a fabulous read, I highly recommend this book!
