Summary: Pretty good.....
Review: I decided to purchase this tape to listen to on the plane. For it's inexpensive price it's pretty good. These are the only things I didn't like about it:

1. They speak WAY too fast. For a beginner, you would probably have to listen to both of these tapes MULTIPLE times. To understand it all. They definetly need to go slower. You can't understand anything hardly without following along with the book it comes with.

2. The language they teach you is Spanish from Spain. I personally was looking for Spanish from Mexico/South America.

Overall, this is a pretty good tape.

Summary: Thumbs Up!
Review: I have tried several programs, and have learned the most easily with this format. Lessons are divided into different social situations (greetings, introductions, shopping, etc.) As with any program, it does take a certain amount of application. This program is nice because, you can learn while doing housework, driving, excercising. All phrases are spoken first in English, then in Spanish; you do not have to be constantly looking at the book, in order to study.

Summary: Struggling...
Review: The pacing of the narration and examples is too fast. I find that the speakers in the examples are barely intelligible--too fast and too soft-spoken. My Hispanic friend listened and suggested that it's not a good choice for a beginner.

Summary: An excellent supplement to other courses and programs
Review: This is not a program to learn basic Spanish from, rather, it is a good course to listen to after you have a basic knowledge of Spanish vocabulary and grammer. The main value of the program is to allow you to see how words and phrases are actually used in conversation. The course also will give you a good functional vocabulary of useful words and expressions. If you take into account its very low price and comprehensiveness it is an excellent value for the money. Recommened, but not as your only course - you will need a basic Spanish grammer course in addition.
