Summary: whatever
Review: This book starts out building one assumption on top of another, and the assumptions are not backed up, they are taken for granted.

I was disappointed.

Summary: WE NEED THIS?
Review: When I had Thanksgiving dinner with Gary 15 yrs. ago or so at Jean Taupin's, I said "Gary, I just read your book SEAT OF THE SOUL. I think you should have stayed a Physics guru instead of trying to become a guru guru. Your way out of you're water." From the latest, I don't think Gary's gotten any smarter.

Summary: Take what you can use and leave the rest
Review: I very much enjoyed this latest book by Gary Zukav. I believe that it has a lot to offer many people. It is written in very easily understood prose and the chapters are short which is helpful to many. I believe Gary Zukav to be a very sincere man and one who has much to offer our world. Many of the things he has written have changed my life. However; to those people who are critical of the book, I say to you: Take the good from it, reflect on what has meaning to your particular life and leave the rest. There is something there for everyone. If it doesn't change your life, it doesn't make another's experience less valid.I am sure Gary himself would give the same advice. As for the fundamental religious freaks, this book has meaning for you as well. Never once does it say that we should live without God, but it gives us advice on how to live with OURSELVES! Much of what religious doctrine has taught us has not worked for many people and even harmed some. Gary's advice works for all- religious and non-religious.

Because it contains no religious references, it is no less helpful to humankind.

Summary: HIGH ON MY LIST
Review: I first read Gary Zukav when I was in rehab in Minnesota. A guy from my group loaned my his copy of _The Angel and The Frog: Becoming Your Own Angel_, and I did nothing but read read read, in my more lucid moments. The book taught me that no one else was going to be looking after me, that people care only about themselves, and that, if I wanted to kick, I had to tune everyone else out and just deal with it myself. Of course, this didn't go over too well in the meetings, but I stuck by it, and, for about six months, I managed to stay as clean as can be expected. Well enough to get myself into a transitional home, where I could really be my own angel.

When I saw that _Soul Stories_ came out, I ran out and got myself a copy. It basically starts out where A&F left off, teaching you how to get along in the world without having to trust or depend on anyone else. If only I'd read this when I was a teenager! Thanks, Gary!

Summary: A reply to converts of Zukavism
Review: I'd say Gary Zukav is about 90 degrees off the mark. I didn't much care for Seat of the Soul. It wasn't grounded enough in the familiar to reach me where I am. Soul Stories is a little more readable, but more of the same philosophy.

I can see how anyone left out in the cold by post-modern relativism would flock to Zukav. I filled my empty space long ago with the simple, ageless truths of my Christian faith. It's not about empowering ourselves, Mr. Zukav. Never has been. Our strength comes from realizing we are nothing without God and everything with Him.

Debbie Thurman has probably said it best. Truth brings freedom and truth is immutable, never relative. I don't see any fear there. Most people won't get that.

Summary: Not Even a Day
Review: I ordered Soul Stories through amazon.com after seeing & hearing about it on Oprah last week. It arrived on late Friday afternoon. I woke up at 3:30am Sat morn & DEVOURED 120 pages. Went back to sleep & finished by 4pm (even with a full schedule!).

Gary Zukav's words resonate with me. He puts so much of what I am feeling into words, thoughts, and insight!

It's an *AMAZING* time to be on the planet, AND starring "in my own <soul> movie! "

Summary: I'm sorry Gary, but this book is just silly.
Review: I like Gary's previous books & his guest appearances onOprah, but Soul Stories has one idea, repeated for 247 pages, ingraceless language.

Summary: The Bible of the new millennium
Review: This is another wonderful book of Gary Zukav. I read it in one day. I just could not let go of it. It has all the insides and wisdom expressed in an easy language for everybody to understand. I was crying and laughing at different parts of the stories. The book is so comforting. I will read it again and again whenever I feel to loose touch with my mothership. For me it is the bible of the new millennium.
