Rating: Summary: I loved Montana Sky Review: A great summer read. Some sex, some mystery, some romance. A great beach novel. But be careful you don't get sunburned!! I had a hard time putting it down
Rating: Summary: You love it or you hate it I thought it was mediocre Review: Three sister who don't know each other and have grown up apart now have to live together for a year to get their inheritance. One sister is dominating, one sister is money hungry, and the other shy and a little shell shocked. A story with great potential but seems to fall short in some areas. Could have been 50 pages less
Rating: Summary: THREE VERY DIFFERENT WOMEN CONNECTED BY BLOOD Review: THIS IS ONE OF NORA'S BEST! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. THESE 3 SISTERS ARE ALL AS DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER AS CAN BE AND WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER. HOWEVER, THE WILL OF DADDY BRINGS THEM TOGETHER WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT. A FUN READ. FULL OF LAUGHTER. FULL OF ADVENTURE
Rating: Summary: disappointed Review: I thought that I was going to get a rich in-depth
family story that I could sink my teeth into. Instead I bought a novel that had sex on every other page.
The pages that did not have sex, had butchering,
butchering of humans, that is. Fine gory details.
I would not recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: a great escape from real life Review: This book was nearly impossible to put down. Very well written for a romantic/mystery novel, but not an exilerating literary experience, although a book of this type isn't expected to be.
The descriptive characters and setting are brought to life. The kissing scenes are a bit too detailed and very much alike.
Rating: Summary: My first Nora Roberts book. Review: Montana Sky, the first Nora Roberts I have read, hard to put down.I was really involved in the story, thought I was there trying to cope with ranch life and getting to know my sisters.Planning to spend the summer in the mountains and I'm going to take a pile of Nora Roberts books with me
Rating: Summary: VERY GOOD Review: The characters are for the most part, realistic and interesting. You care for them and wish them success as they face their challanges. I thought I had the "bad guy" figured out, and was pleasently surprized to discover I was wrong! She always keeps her readers' guessing. I especially appreiciate the minimum use of cliches
and variety of locales. Thus eleminateing the feeling you're rereading the same book, with only the title and names changed. I look forward to reading more
Rating: Summary: A book you can't put down. Review: If you have never read Nora Roberts, you should start. She always keeps you coming back for more. She is an excellent
writer. She writes with finesse about romance but she also adds suspense and drama to her writing. Once you start reading Roberts, you won't want to read anyone else. I reccomend you
start with her trilogy Born in Fire, Born in Ice, and Born
in Shame. They will get you hooked for sure.
Rating: Summary: A good read Review: This book had a lot of elements of a historical western romance, however it was set in modern times. I loved the vivid descriptions of the landscape, however the gruesome attacks by the person trying to sabatoge the range were described in way too much detail for me. I was sure I knew who the killer was, only to find out that I guessed wrong!
I enjoyed the storyline of 3 half-sisters who have never met before, from very different walks of life, coming together and uniting for the common cause, and finding loving men and supportive relationships. The book was a little too long for me, and dragged along in parts, but all-in-all a good read.
Rating: Summary: Good characters, but no fun to read! Review:
I am a Nora Roberts fan, but I did not enjoy this book at all!
The three main characters were well drawn: tough cowboy Willa, glamourous screenwriter Tess, and sweet, abused Lily were likeable, as well as the men they fell for. I gave the book a star because of them.
However, and this is a big however, I HATED the parts in the book that deal with rape, sodomism, and the mutilation of animals/people!!! I wanted to warn anyone who is going to read this book that if scenes like that bother you, read no further! If you are a fan of Mary Higgins Clark, or another realistic suspense writer, then by all means, read this book. But if you are just looking for a good romance, skip it!!!
I finished the book because I wanted to find out if the main characters end up together, but I returned it to the library the day after I read it. It left a nasty feeling in my mind.
I know that Roberts is celebrated for her suspense thrillers, but this was my first experience with one of them. I am planning to steer clear of ALL of her thrillers, and stick with the cozy romances that don't make you recoil in disgust as you read them!
I know that many others enjoy this book (it was recommended very highly to me), but I am just stating my personal opinion. Pur society has to deal with issues such as wife beating, prostitution, etc. every day. When I read, I'd rather not be reminded of them!
