Summary: An Amazing Ride
Review: This book was amazing. The best book I've read in years. It has action, adventure and a little bit of history to boot. It is about a man how's father was murdered in Boston when he was a little boy, murdered in front of him. The murderer was never found. Then years later as an adult and a Dr he is in Paris on a conference and while sitting at a cafe he sees the man who murdered his father and from there it just goes and does not stop. Once you think you have it figured out you realize you don't and just have to continue to read it until it ends. Do not expect to get much sleep as this book is too dificult to put down.

Summary: Hang on for the ride of your life
Review: The only two books I like better than "The Day After Tomorrow" are "The Lord of the Rings" by JRR Tolkien (sure, this was actually three books, but since it was one story, we'll consider it one book)and "It" by Stephen King. This book starts out running and doesn't stop until literally the last sentence of the book. Be forewarned, if you are a reader who likes to check out the last page of the book when you start it, please don't, as you'll spoil the the most cliff-hanging surprise ending ever. There are dozens of twists and turns along the way, and I highly recommend it.
Please try this book, and if you like it, I would recommend Alan Folsom's second book "Day of Confession" which, although not as good as "Day After Tomorrow" still delivers in every way.

Summary: Without a doubt the worst ending of any book ever published
Review: The book starts out decent, grabs you by the throat and makes you hang on every word, until that final scene where you think to yourself:

Why the heck did I bother, They F**** H*****'s H***?!?!?!?

You'll hate yourself for reading this. Please do not bother.

Review: what i liked is just when i thought i figured it out, i didn't - again and again. i love longer books, so the saga of this one was up my alley.

Summary: Definite Page Turner
Review: This book catches you on the first page and doesnt let go. From start to finish there is always something exciting happening. DO NOT SKIP AHEAD AND READ THE LAST PAGE! This will totally ruin it for you! The only reason this book has 4 stars is because there are 1 or 2 situations that are a little bit far fetched for a normal person to be in, but besides that, this book comes highly recommended.

Summary: The Best Book I've ever read
Review: I was just glancing through many of the reviews that have been written about this book. I just can't believe that anyone who rates this book at less than 5 stars has ever actually read the book. I'm a fan of Clancy and Ludlum but this book puts them both to shame. Pay no attention to any of the poor reviews!!! This book is terrific (as MOST of the reviews will tell you).

Summary: The Day After Tomorrow
Review: One of the most thrilling reads I have ever had. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, unable to put it down. You have no idea what is going on, or why things are happening until literally the last word where everything makes sense. A must for any fan of action thrillers.

Summary: a howler
Review: This book is bad-- it occupies a territory somewhere between bad Ludlum and The Destroyer novels. Many of the situations are ludicrous, and it should have won some sort of Bulwer-Lytton award for some of its writing-- the line about the truck driver performing a tracheotomy on the 70-year-old nun with a Swiss army knife had me on the floor convulsed with laughter, as did the final, wildly improbably line (which I'll let you discover for yourself). I even wrote to Bill Pronzini, saying that if he should ever write another Gun in Cheek book, this and The Pledge (see my review) should be prime candidates for inclusion.

Summary: Review of AudioBook version
Review: A "regular Joe" type of man travelling in Europe sits down for a cup of coffee only to notice his father's killer sitting not far from him. This is the opening to a cat&mouse chase that leads all over Europe where our protagonist is sometimes the chaser and sometimes the chased as secrets are revealed.

NOTE: DO NOT BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO READS THE END OF THE BOOK THEN RESTARTS THE WHOLE STORY NOW THAT YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. You will hate yourself if you do so!! This story is intentionally meant to be read till the very, very last line!!

1) The book is read by Edward Herrmann. Mr. Herrmann does a very enjoyable reading, interspersing various charcter accents with appropriate voice inflections (fear, anger, etc) to help liven the reading.

2) Kind of annoying was the musical "interludes" that were meant to help increase the intensity of a scene. I personally found them distracting

3) I didn't get close to putting the clues together and figuring out 90% of what was really going on until very close to the end. In other words it was an engaging plot with a wonderful round of twists and turns.

4) Characters seemed 3D to me. They weren't all necessarily good or bad but function believably within the realm of how the author defines the character. Some of the actions were surprising that anyone would do this or that, but the author built up the characters background enough that it was believable for that character when you thought about it. This made it even more enjoyable as you didn't really know what someone might or might not do when put into a situation.

OVERALL: I had the paperback in my garage for many years after a recommendation from a friend that is was one of his all time favorite stories. I eventually "cleaned house" and this was one of the books to go. When I saw the audio version at the library I said, "Why not". I now wish I would have read the book version instead...I recommend it. I have picked up the paperback version of this since. :)

Summary: What a Thriller Should Be!
Review: This book is the ultimate thriller with fast past action, twist and turns, and very intriguing characters. A man framed for a murder he did not commit tries to clear his name while running from a "Columbo" type detective. His other problem is a killer who takes the art of the disguise to new heights. Leave a lot of time free when you start this book because you won't want to put it down!
