Rating: Summary: Excellent book - the kind you don't want to end... Review: I picked this book up and could not put it down..I hated to turn the light out and force myself to go to sleep...I read it while on vacation summer of 98 and I still think about it.. one of the best books I have ever read...wish I had more!!!!
Rating: Summary: A True Page-Turner Review: One of the best books I've ever read. I currently enjoy Martini, Patterson, Baldacci, Grisham and Cornwell to name a few but have read many others. The action starts on page one and it just keeps moving with unpredictable twists and turns. Excellent book that I foolishly loaned to someone and will probably never see again. But, I will definitely buy another copy because I just have to have it! Read it!
Rating: Summary: WOW!!! One of the best books I've ever read!!! Review: I had two friends of mine recommend the book to me...and I was NOT disappointed! I read this book four years ago...and I still think of it often. When you get this book, allow yourself PLENTY of free time over the next day or two so you won't feel guilty for cancelling plans... This book was much better than the Grisham or Clancy books I've read. Don't read too many of the reviews...some gave the whole thing away... I had to read the last few pages a couple of times...I never saw the ending coming...ENJOY!!! If you've read The Day of Confession - this one is exponentially better. Buy this book and you'll realize that TDoC deserves a mulligan...hopefully his 3rd will be as good (if not better than!) this one...
Rating: Summary: Excellent, fast moving plot and deeply absorbing characters. Review: I absolutely loved "The Day After Tomorrow" was completely engrossed, and always reluctant to put it down. I actually felt the fear and the pain of the characters. It was excellent and had everything I look for in a suspense novel. It was well written with interesting characters who were beautifully fleshed out to the extent I felt I actually knew them. I had no problem with the length of the book, in fact I was sorry when I reached the end. I look forward to reading Mr. Folsom's next novel which I believe is "Day of Confession."
Rating: Summary: American doctor gets caught up in Nazi plan Review: I read this book in the summer of 1997, and it is still one of my favorite suspense novels. It is by far the fastest 600 pages you will ever read. Filled with fantastioc adventures, globe trotting suspense, and a climax that no one could predict. Potato chips for the brain like never before. Blows John Grisham out of the water.
Rating: Summary: Keep a notepad handy while you read this book... Review: There are four things that would improve this book: 1. There were too many characters. Each new character was introduced in excruitating detail. Once introduced, the character was not central to the plot and the character was later killed not more than one chapter later. There were just too many unimportant characters in the plot. 2. More could have been done with the main character Paul Osborn. The fact that he had two wives could have been interesting. No "history" was given. 3. The overall premise that a grown man would remember the face of his father's killer is too absurd. It's too coincidental to run into the killer at the openning sentence. Perhaps a better choice would be for Paul to do research and find the killer. 4. Can't the author trim the story to 300+ pages and still convey the plot?
Rating: Summary: A terrible book Review: I picked up The Day After Tomorrow at the airport and wastrapped with it on a three-hour flight. What a terrible,preposterously-written book. The plot is not only laughable, it's also predictable. (I think I'll go rent Die Hard so I can see how this stuff's supposed to be done.)
Rating: Summary: Has an intesting plot but gets too corny Review: Unique plot but I got tired of the corny coincidences (you know, where one character runs into another in one of those 1 in a million circumstances...and it happens over and over). Also, I got tired of the usual "boy meets girl" stuff with the predictable story lines. On the plus side, it really has a unique plot. For quite awhile it keeps you guessing "what's up?". Nice twist in the end although I guessed it before I got to it (unusual for me),
Rating: Summary: A tremendous first novel Review: I was most impressed with this novel, so much so I have read it several times (something I do not normally do). The way the plot is hinged and the interaction between the "hero" and other characters makes the book a relentless page turner. Action from page one, a good plot line, it's just great. One critisism is the ending, I felt that the last few pages were a little out of place, as if Folsom had suddenly decided he might want to write a sequel....
Rating: Summary: Great read! Review: I loved this book, it was exciting, and the pace fast - right up until the last page. It would make a great movie! My book club totally destroyed the book with everybody having read it... so i went out and bought myself another copy! To Keep. I am sure to read it again. Good escapism. If it's literature you want... read Byron or whoever.
