Rating: Summary: Bold, daring Review: "I made this book mandatory reading for my Ranger team. I'd quiz my men about what they'd learned; to be bold, daring, tenacious, audacious, and don't be afraid to make a decision. We went from the worst platoon in the regiment to the best platoon in six months. In training we'd get to objective so fast they had to hold us back. US Army Master Sergeant H. "Max" Mullen Ret. 75th Ranger Regiment

Rating: Summary: rayjoy@ipa.net Review: As all the other books by VietNam Vets, I think that this one was right on the money. I think that Larry did an outstanding of telling it just like it was. I have read his other books and like this one I found them to be very eye opening. Iwas also a LRRP/RANGER in Nam,although I didn't go through half of what these boys did I have a very good idea of what everyone of them went through. RLTW Roadrunner6 Out
Rating: Summary: stupidity and intelligence Review: Chambers shows the ingnorance and smarts of a LRRP from induction to long after the end of the Vietnam WAR. His actions are will inspiring. Movie perfection with out any changes. Funny and at the edge action. A book a romantic can't let down. Thanks Larry.
Rating: Summary: amazing, interesting, captivating, and funny Review: Having been in the army, served in a war myself, and now turned helicopter pilot, I can truly recommend his book to everybody. Especially readers who are thinking of joining, people who have served and wifes who are trying to understand. Larry Chambers tells it how it is. It's the "real experience" without the politics and the [] Hollywood drama. I personally enjoyed most how the book showes that in the real world, all that was learned in basic and from the handbook, needs to be "slightly modified" to survive a real battle and keep working. You guys are true heroes to me and I thank you, Larry, for a wonderful book I couldn't put down until I was done at around 3am next morning.
Rating: Summary: A Different View of the Vietnam War Review: I enjoyed this book rather immensely. It was short but was simultaneously gripping. It one man's story of the Vietnam War as he experienced it serving with a LRRP unit in the 101st. For those interested in seeing and understanding the Vietnam War from all the angles necessary to more completely comprehend the goings on over there, this book is an excellent addition.
Rating: Summary: This book is an accurate portrayal! Review: I flew a lot of missions with the 281st Assault Helicopter Company in support of the Recondo School in Vietnam. I checked my logbook and might have brought Mr. Chambers back from Hon Tre Island and I was one of the pilots who inserted the striker company in support of his "graduation exercise". My call sign was Bandit 23. Excellent book!
Rating: Summary: THANKS FOR A GOOD ONE Review: I read Larry Chamber's Recondo, and as a woman, and a wife of a Vietnam Veteran, it went a long way to helping me understand what my husband endured.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: I really dont like to read at all, but when I picked up this book i couldn't put it down. The excitement and the derad or the war was caught in this book. I love this book......
Rating: Summary: Recondo Review: I was in the Army during the war,but was a life guard..I sure had it easier than the boys up front. Mr Chambers made me feel like I was there.
