Summary: very informative
Review: I enjoyed this book very much. I enjoyed the information, which was presented in a very understandable way. I also enjoyed how Ms. Angier gave a lot of time to different points of view and also expressed what her opinions were and why. I learned a lot from this book.

The tone of the book was also great and really added to my enjoyment. Though it is casual, it only adds to the enjoyment of the book and for me didn't take away from the technical presentation at all.

Summary: Gotta get it!
Review: Fascinating information. Now that I know young children have a hormonal rush around the age of four, I'm much more patient with my four year old daughter. I guess I empathize. If you're the mother of a daughter, it's a must read. Hopefully for both of you. The information on sexually transmitted diseases is the best I've read. Remember when we were told not to be promiscuous? Well, if anyone had explained it to me like this, I would've said NO, instead of YES. There's a much better way to explain the risks of STD's that is currently being passed on.

Summary: Very Enjoyable Read
Review: I haven't quite finished (almost done) but it's been very informative and enjoyable so far. It's not just for women, men should read it, too. It could possibly change the way the sexes think about each other and, hopefully, for the better.

Summary: A Must Read For Everyone (not just women)
Review: Don't read this book expecting to find a "typical" dirt-digging, male-bashing, feminist manifesto. You'll be sorely disappointed. Read it instead to find a beautifully written, well-researched, and thoroughly balanced look at what makes a woman a woman (and, incidentally, what makes a man a man). You'll find yourself thinking about a *lot* of things in an entirely new light, and wanting to discuss her topics with friends and family, both male and female. Hers is the kind of refreshing viewpoint that we need more of. You go, girl!

Summary: I tried really hard to read this book.......
Review: I tried so hard to read this book. I bought it on the recommendation of a friend who told me that this would help me improve my self-esteem about my "rounded" body type. I tried so hard, but was unable to see where this book was going and how it was supposed to help me. Now, I don't claim to be an avid reader of nonfiction, but there were times I would read passages over and over and over again to try and make sense of what she was trying to say and what it meant to me. Don't get me wrong it was an intersting book, but I failed to see how it helped me (not everyone, just me).....Bottom line, it will be a long time before I personally read something from this offer again, it just took to much work to figure out what she was trying to say.

Summary: Page-turning NONfiction!
Review: Echoing the editorial reviews of "Woman: An Intimate Geography", I commend Angier's ability to make a most familiar and seemingly ordinary subject positively effervesce. Her exceptional command of the written language, backed by knowledge both broad and deep, research from all manner of sources, ebullient dramatic flair, and a genuine good old-fashioned sense of humor make this an absolute page-turner. Perhaps the best non-fiction I have or will ever read.

Summary: Fascinating
Review: Brilliantly written, this book offers women a window to their own bodies and increases our sense of self and pride. I couldn't put it down.

Summary: In a word, awesome
Review: "Woman: An Intimate Geography" is amazingly refreshing, insightful, instructive, fun and celebratory. I have devoured it, and it certainly touched a place in me. It's like nothing I have ever encountered (and I read a lot!) I immediately bought five copies and gave them to friends for holiday and birthday gifts. We live in many different parts of the world, but we all find such commonalities in it and love discussing it and writing e-mails about it. Awesome, in a word.

Summary: Male reader review
Review: Out of pure curiousity, and a NPR radio interview, I bought the hardcover edition of this book. I will admit that I am by no means an avid reader, nor an extreme literary conusor. I felt that this book started out strong, and then slowly diminished in both quality and entertainment value as I turned another chapter. This book seems like it might be extremely helpful for woman of any age who have or know some one who has the problems she talks about, but for the average reader not much insight is gained except for a smattering of facts, or jabs if you will. Angier views are clearly feministic, yet enlightening and simply fun for the most part. This book could have used more factual information, more evenly based information from both sides of the issues, and a clearer focus. I walked away with a disappointing smattering of tidbits along with a some what larger vocabulary; I expected more from an author with her reputation - this book seemed more like a vacation for Natalie.

Summary: Excellent mind-expanding book
Review: This is the perfect antidote to all the negative images conveyed by the media about women's bodies and sexuality. Every woman should read this book if she wants to appreciate what a work of art the female body is. Knowledge truly is power!
