Summary: Can you believe it...I actually cried
Review: Romance novels never used to make me cry. I love reading them but I usually end up dismissing the plot and characters as fluff. I know that there will be a happy ending and therefore, read the book unemotionally. Well. I can honestly say that this book, To the Ends of the Earth, made me shed more than a tear. Actually, when my sister walked in and saw me sitting on the couch surrounded by discarded tissues. She was alarmed and thought there was actually something wrong with me.

But really, this book captures the beauty and emotion of love so well that it just pulls at your heart, demanding your emotions. I simply could not detach myself from the plot. The fresh happiness of the newly-discovered love between Cat and Travis and finally the heart-wrenching climax...OH! This book was just brimming with passion and raw human emotion, stripped to the core. The diction is so fluid and appropriate that I found myself mesmerized. A truly wonderful book. Notice I didnt say romance. This book sheds the boring predictability often associated with romance and emerges out as a novel brimming with passion, dreams and most of all...LOVE

Summary: Hits one right in the heart
Review: The characters were very real to me when i read that book. It's true that those who have never had the experience of having work themselves half to death just to put siblings to school, will never understand just how beautifully written and expressed this story is. I can identify with the character's pain and frustration at love and can vividly imagine her pain when she lost her unborn child and the distance she has set herself out, beyond the reach of anyone or anything. I think that only lowell could bring across her thoughts and feelings so well through her excellent writing ability and protrayal of the characters. The emotions coming out from the story moved me to tears. In short, it's the simple things in life which makes the most realistic story.

Summary: Was this book published as "The Danvers Touch" previously?
Review: The Danvers Touch was one of the first books I read by Elizabeth Lowell. I was hooked and have since collected all of her releases. The Danvers Touch is an excellent story. It will touch your heart.

Summary: Another great story from Elizabeth Lowell
Review: The story for Cat & Travis is well written, deeply touching and very sensual. I have read a lot of E.Lowell's books now, and still find her characters are unique, story plots well researched and very captivating!! I couldn't put this one down -- its a keeper.

Summary: Compelling.........Heart Wrenching
Review: The story unfolds in an affluent beachtown in southern California with an accidental meeting between Cat Cochran, a professional photographer over worked and over burbened with the financial responsibilities of her mother and two siblings, and Travis Danvers, wealthy designer/builder of world-class sailboats
when he rescues Cat and her photographic equipment from the pounding surf.

The attraction between the pair is undeniable and they enter into an uneasy relationship, Cat is sure that Travis will one day
sail away but she can't keep her heart from becoming involved, and Travis believes, because of past experiences, that women are more interested in his status and money than him and tries to establish a financial arrangement between he and Cat.

Tension and emotions run high when Cat, who believes she is steril, discovers she is pregnant and happily tells Travis who reacts as though she is trying to trap himand offers her a pay-off which brings an end to the relationship.

You'll suffer through Cat's heartache when she discovers she may lose the baby because of her exhausted condition and is forced to sell her only means of support, her photographic equipment, to pay her debts so she can take a break from work and get the needed rest, then you'll experience her feeling of loneliness.
You'll feel the anguish Travis goes through when Cat miscarries their child and he learns of the scrificies she made to have his child. Then you'll feel his feeling of helplessness when Cat goes into an extreme depression that nothing, not even photography, will bring her out of and Travis realizes that because of his error in judgement things may be too late for Cat.....and for them.

If you enjoy a romance that touches the heart, you'll love To the Ends of the Earth.

Summary: Good Read!
Review: This book was an excellent example of Lowell at her best. The characters are intelligent and realistic. The only problem I have with re-writes... the language gets worse and frankly takes away from the plot and causes some confusion. I don't often cry while reading, but this one had me sobbing in the end, waiting for that happy ending but it did keep the pages turning. . I was happier with this book than I have been with works by Lowell. This was a good read!

Summary: I missed the original, but really liked this one.
Review: This book was an excellent example of Ms.Lowell at her best. The characters are sharp and can be easily identified with. The only problem I have with re-writes, is that the language gets worse and frankly takes away from the text. I don't often cry while reading, but this one had me sobbing towards the end. The only thing that kept me going was knowing that Ms. Lowell would reward me at the end of the book with a happy ending.I was happier with this book than I have been with previous ones by Ms. Lowell.

Review: This book was both the most fantastic and the saddest I've ever read. Noot that It doesn't have a happy ending, but Travis and Cat both have such screwed-up lives. both have been burned ny marriage and neither is willing to bend. Travis is a millionaire who was married for his money, and Cat is a photographer who was married to a rich boy who only wanted children, but she was sterile. Travis thinks that she only wants to get close to him for his money. Cat knows that her heart will be broken when he eventually answers the call of the sea and sails off in one of the sleek boats he designs. Do they have a chance at love?

Summary: Powerful relationship between conflicted characters.
Review: This is an unusually emotionally intense romance novel. Considering that emotional intensity is pretty much the hallmark of romance novels, that is saying a lot. It is the story of Cat Cochran, a very talented but struggling professional photographer, and Travis Danvers, a wealthy designer of superior sailboats. Both are emotionally damaged - she by a wealthy but brutal ex-husband and he by a money-grubbing woman who manipulated a pregnancy in hopes of financial gain. The two accidentally meet and are immediately attracted to one another even though each has similarities to the person that traumatized the other in the past. Cat has not been paid by her some of her most important customers and is valiantly struggling to bring in enough money to support herself and her glomming family. Travis wants to make her his mistress and put a price on their relationship. He can't relax unless they've agreed upon a financial settlement. Also, Cat is working so hard that she is physically exhausted and doesn't have much time for him. Cat, of course, is wary of any financial dependence and isn't about to sell herself. Despite their inability to come to understanding, they begin a fervent relationship that surprises both of them. Naturally, all is not smooth sailing, and they both are placed in positions where they must confront and overcome their emotional demons.

Both characters are very appealing. Travis comes off as a very realistic modern-day pirate type, and I was particularly able to relate to the way Cat balanced her physical exhaustion with her need to be with Travis. Lowell does an amazing job of conveying that state where you are overwhelmed with responsibilities but are still giddily excited about a new relationship. There isn't a lot of plot to this story - no mystery to solve or evil third party trying to drive the two apart. The sole focus of the book is the relationship, and it packs a powerful punch. A great read for romance fans.
