Summary: I was a little disappointed in the book
Review: I read the reviews and thought that it sounded like a good book but when I read it, it just wasn't as good as her other books. It's an okay book but I wouldn't recommend to anyone expecting a 5 star story!

Summary: WOW! I couldn't put it down!
Review: I started with E. Lowell's historical romances and fell in love with her style. This is the 2nd contemporary novel of hers I've read and again am not disappointed. I liked her strong females in the historicals, but the females in the contemporaries are even stronger. I can respect Cat's not wanting to give in to selling out for Travis' money and having to do it the hard way. The depth Lowell takes you to in these 2 lives and their pain is extraordinary. I cried and laughed and was thrilled with the ending. I read this into the wee hours of the night and picked it up immediately in the morning to finish it.

Summary: Barely worth the effort of reading it
Review: I was very disappointed in this book. The characters were completely unbelievable. The heroine, Cathy, is working herself to death to support her mother and help her twin siblings through medical school, but she doesn't have so much as a phone conversation with them. She also seemed incredibly naive in some ways, I kept on thinking, "Hasn't this woman ever watched Oprah?" Perhaps this can be explained by the fact that it's a rewrite of a novel originally published some years ago.

The hero, believes all women are like his ex-wife, only out for his money. He didn't have any other influences, a mother? a teacher? anyone?

It seemed like it had the potential to be a much better book than it was.

Summary: They don't get any better than this!
Review: I've read ALL of Elizabeth Lowell's books, and without a doubt this is my favorite. It grabs you and won't let go - don't pick it up to read unless you have the time because you WON'T put it down until you are finished. Your heart will break over Cat and then soar!

Summary: Loved it
Review: If you can get past some sappy cliche moments and a few overused phrases like "the cold center of night" this book is one of the best. The characters are strong but believable, flawed yet extraordinary. Travis Danvers is one of the best developed and most appealing leading men I've read about and Cat's vulnerablility and strength are admirable. This story leaves your mind feeling like it devoured a feast of love and romance, conflict and triumph.

Summary: A mediocre offering and an alarming trend
Review: In the continuing trend of Ms. Lowell's to re-write her first books, re-package them (making them look like new works), and charge outragous amounts in the interest of cashing in on her popularity comes "To the Ends of the Earth." It is an unfortunate thing to have a beautiful book like "The Danvers Touch" turned into something so, well, boring. The original book, published over 15 years ago, stands as a testament to this authors power as a romance writer. There have been ups and downs over the years but as of late the downs have been more consistent than the ups. My advice to readers is to avoid this book and send a message to publishers and authors alike to stop exploiting us. If you can, try to get the original book that "To the Ends of the Earth" is based on.

Summary: how can you describe perfection?
Review: It is really. You can feel the characters' emotions and agony. Some times you smile and some times you cry. You agonize whith them. You live them. And you miss them to extent that as soon as you finish it you start reading it again. And you keep on coming to it again and again and again.
In boring days it's a must. In lonely nights it's a need.
buy it!
believe me this is one book you'll never forget!

Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: It's the romance book I have ever read!!!!!! It really pulls at the heartstrings and the tear-pouch!!!!!! I cried a bucketful!!!!!! This is the book that got me started on Lowell. Way to go!!!!! :)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Unbelievably Good
Review: Ms. Lowell is as artistic with her words as her character Catherine's is with her cameras. The pictures she paints with her words are as visable as any art in a gallery. The emotions they cause in the reader run the gambit from unbelievable sensually pleasure to the dark depths of grief. Parts of the book on tape version should be listen to in private with a large box of soft kleenx. Experience the ultimate in reading pleasure when you pick up this book or slip the tape into the player.

Summary: Great! To keep!
Review: One of the best romance books by one of the 'greats' (ranked at the top with Susan Johnson, Sandra Brown, Linda Howard etc.). The best book from Elizabeth Lowell by far. An independent and strong woman 'Cat' falls in love with a weary, successful, wealthy 'Travis'. Mistrust in women surfaces as Travis struggles to accept that Cat loves him for himself, and not his money. Dialogue is great. I've re-read it a dozen times. More of this sort of stories, with many heart-wrenching moments, please!
