Summary: It'll draw you in
Review: "To the Ends of the Earth" is a great book that really draws you in and makes you feal with and for the characters. Cat's a photographer who is helping her twin siblings through medical school, suporting her mother until she's married, and still having to suport herself. She's been through a bad mariage, and no longer trust rich men. Travis is a very rich boat disigner, who's also gone through a bad mariage. He doesn't trust women with less money than him because he believes they are only after his money, and not him. They are both drawn together by a mutual friend that wants Cat to put together a book about Travis and his encredible ships. Though they are extreamly atracted to each other neither of them truly trusts each other. Travis has made it clear that this will only be an affair on his part, not really believing that she can truly be interested in him for him and not for his money. At the same time Cat is working night and day to suport her family, and is pushing herself toward exhaustion, and trying to show Travis that she loves who he is, no his money. Cat and Tavis must work out their differences before they can sail to the ends of the earth.

Review: As an avid collector of romance novels...have all of Elizabeth Lowell's, was not disappointed in this book. The characters to me were not just names in a book....I became thoroughly immersed in their story. I laughed and cried, but knew the ending would be a happy one. Will recommend this book to all my friends who enjoy contemporary romance. Cannot wait for Ms. Lowell's next book!!

Summary: A sappy but good read
Review: As I first began listening to this book, I wondered whether I would even be able to finish it. The book really zooms in on the two main characters, with some interaction from secondary characters. As a result, your reading experienced is very focused on the emotions of the two characters -- their feelings, why they have them, their fears about relationships and their pain on imagined or real slights received from one another. The activities and scenery surrounding these characters seems to pale in comparison to their story.

The thing that had me questioning whether I could finish this book is the fact that the book seemed so real, without the usual "larger than life" events that take place in the romances I usually to read. (Which for me is usually historical romances.) For example, I felt as if I could get the same kind of story by calling up a girlfriend and listening to tales of her romantic life. At first that bothered me -- because it was so "every day". But after a while it began to grow on me, as did the characters. By the end of the book, I didn't feel as if I'd wasted my time at all. In fact, I realized that I'd read a story that differed from those I typically read; which is not a bad thing.

If you like stories that focus on relationships and the emotional development of the characters, and you don't need a lot of action or adventure (which in this type of story would draw away from the focus on relationships), then you'll like this book. It wraps up rather nicely and it turned out to be a nice comfortable read.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: Back of the book makes the novel sound better than it is. I recommend "Where the Heart Is" instead of this over-dramatized book.

Summary: Truly Magnificant Love Story
Review: Cat Cochran and Travis Danvers meet when he recues her and her photographic equipment froom the tide coming in. They strike up a relationship and Cat tells Travis she cannot have children and explains the horrors of her first marriage. Travis has been hurt badly by his first marriage and really doesn't trust women. Cat is trying desperately to hold on, work and pay her many bills at which time her mother will remarry and the situation will improve.

Well, Cat get pregnant, Simon accuses her of devious reasons for her telling him she could not pregnant. They quarrel and Simon leaves. Cat threatens miscarriage and the story proceeds. I won't say anymore but this is one of the most memorable books I have ever read and wish Ms Lowell would write more this type story.

You will laugh, cry, feel terrible and then feel wonderful.

Summary: To Shed Some Tears
Review: Elizabeth Lowell is authoress extroadinaire, the feelings that she puts into her characters make them appear so real, that their feelings are your feeling and their lives are your lives. I shed tears reading this story and felt like I was part of the cast of fictional characters in this book. Travis Danvers, the hero, a millionaire who will only marry another millionaire, burnt by a woman that only wanted his money. Cat Cochran, the heroine, working 12 hour days trying to put her nieces thru med school, burnt by an ex millionaire husband, wanted nothing to do with men with money. Will they solve their differences and learn to trust and love each other? Follow their journey on their path to trust and happiness.

Summary: Embarrassing
Review: Elizabeth Lowell's books range in 'flavors'. Some of them (like the Donovan series) make me laugh out loud. But, some of them make me want to cry. Not just want, actually, one time I'd just borrowed this book from a friend, and taken it to the beach unsuspectingly. I sat on my beachtowel for three hours reading, (and crying), and by the time I came to, I was sunburned like a lobster and my baby brother was giving me strange looks. This book should come with a label: "Warning, this book is full of angst, and may cause fits of tears". I loved it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not your typical Mushy romance.
Review: First of all, I would just like to say that Elizabeth Lowell is an exceptional writer. Her storys never lack depth or substance, and this book is certainly no exception.

This story involves the beautiful Cat Cochran, a photographer who lives and breathes her work. She is a woman who works day and night so that she can support her mother and two siblings. She is a woman who has been hurt by an unforgiving past.

Travis Danvers is a self made rich man. His past has also left him unwary and cautious of all women. He cannot trust that any women would love anything more than money. Even himself.

With that state of mind, Travis meets Cat, the lovely photographer for his book on sailboats. He is drawn to her quiet beauty, but of course assumes that she is like most of the other women he has known. Women who are only interested in him for his vast fortune. He desperately wants to believe otherwise, but he has been hurt before.

Even though Cat has been deeply hurt by "rich" men, she cannot help but fall for the striking Travis Danvers. Because of her immense responsibilities, Cat cannot stop overworking herself. Travis tries to buy her time with him, but she cannot accept. She will not accept his money, she will be no man's mistress. Cat Cochran takes care of her own self.

Cat and Travis' pasts hurts come in the way of their blossiming love. Past betrayals make Travis hurt Cat in an unforgivable manner. Alone and afraid, Cat loses something deeply cherished, something which means the world to her. Only the love from Travis can make the wronged, right.

This is an excellent novel, which will take you and sweep you off your feet. I recommend it wholeheartedly. You won't regret it.
