Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best Deaver to date! Review: Although it's tempting to dismiss Deaver's formulaic work -- gruesome crime in the first few pages to hook the reader with a surprise twist at the end -- but he does it SO well! I couldn't help thinking during The Bone Collector that if such forensic tools were really available and accurate, how could the LAPD so badly botch the OJ trial? Some people criticize the amount of technical detail used in the forensic testing, but it added to the rollercoaster of emotions with each successful and failed attempt to identify shreds of evidence.
I came away from this novel wanting to read everything Deaver has written. I've completed two others -- A Maiden's Grave and Praying for Sleep -- and have not been disappointed.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good Pace, Well-Researched - An Excellent Read! Review: I bought the book because of the hero,Rhymes, not having read books with a crippled forensic detective as the main character. I wasn't disappointed! The book is gripping from the start, though a word of warning to those with weak stomachs: the murder methods of the killer can make one feel physically ill. One of the things I loved most was the level of detail given to the forensic investigation - Rhyme's deductive powers also seem credible, although the character of his assistant could have been fleshed out more. It was a very entertaining read, and will certainly be on my list of Favourite thrillers
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great! Hopefully there are many more to come! Review: At first the book did not appeal to me but after having read about fifty pages, I simply could not put it down until I had finshed it.
Even his German is correct (unlike in many other English / American books).
Glad that Lincoln did not finish killing himself because that gives me the hope that there are many more books to come (featuring him and Amelia Sachs)!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Outstanding! Review: This title just arrived here in Australia and I couldn't be more satisfied with my first experience reading Deaver. The characters were engaging and the plot deliciously complex. As a reader, I am flattered the Mr. Deaver has forced us to think and slipped in some American History as well. If it weren't 2am I would already be at the bookstore buying all his other titles
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Jeffrey Deaver's finest work to date! Review: "The Bone Collector" is a finely crafted page-
turner. The central characters are ones whom
I hope will return in Jeffrey Deaver's next book.
In true 'mystery' fashion, I was left guessing
who the villain was until very close to the end.... I think it would make a great movie.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A new super-detective in the making? Review: Well-written police procedural/serial-killer novel with a fascinating detective and his admirable if reluctant assistant on the trail of a diabolical killer. Very readable. Tom Reill
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Good premise, bad story Review: The book had the potential of being a great serial killer/cop novel but in the end relied too much on the technical aspects of working a criminal scene and not enough about the actual story. The author attempted to create a man/woman team similar to the Relic but the characters here are not that interesting and sometimes quite annoying. I found myself wondering whether I was reading a novel or a how to book on forensics. If the author just told a story and left out all the scientific jargon the book would have been much more enjoyable
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great read! Review: Excellent story. Kept me up until I finished it. An editing error didn't pick up the difference between Calgary and Cavalry, otherwise well researched
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great read...best of show! Review: This is the first Deaver I read. I really enjoyed the interaction between Lincoln and his team, and the references to old New York were very interesting. This novel inspired me to go out and get the rest of his works, and they are not as good. This is definitely his best--hope he does more with these characters
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I started having nightmares. Review: I really got into this book, but after about
a third of the way through I started having
nightmares so I don't think I will finish it.
I thought too much emphasis was given to the
technical aspects and not enough to the characters.
