Summary: Disturbed by book/movie version of characters
Review: Universal intends to exploit Washington as Rhymes ( money-thing, I'm sure) , whereas (in the book), I picture him as Dellray. Gibson would have been a choice for Rhymes (as would Ford), with their pasts having excerpting characters depicting not only angst-in-persona, but a certain craziness-aspect (though brilliant), as well. Plus, they both match the age-range and physique of Rhymes. Never, but never, in the book, does any mention of Rhymes suggest he is not caucasian. Rather, you get the impression he is not. The only impression of any race is Dellray, himself. Jolie is an unknown quantity, but has natural talent that probably lends itself well to the roll. I still object to Universal cutting costs in this, and J.D. should also, if they "chop-up" the story, for their budgets, and do not adhere to the book. There is nothing "too" gory about it (as in Kiss The Girls), and it should be adhered to, or it is an abomination. I'd truly love another Rhymes/Sachs novel, but not if Universal is going to destroy the story-line. A.Bryant

Summary: An incredible thriller that will not disappoint.
Review: Deaver has written an incredible suspense thriller. The action and suspense do not waver for a second. The killer(bone collector) is both frightening and brilliant. Lincoln Rhyme is a hero for the ages. Rhyme and his female counterpart Sachs make a fabulous team. This novel was unforgettable. Hopefully the movie will live up to the standard that Deaver has set.

Summary: s'okay......
Review: It is a good book...and i definitely do recommend it. Sachs and Rhyme are the best team. It did sort of ramble on a bit in the middle... but its still a great read. Anyway....If you do read it.....congrats you got taste..(^^) Deaver is an excellent author.

Summary: COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN
Review: It's been a while that I've read an entire book in a matter of hours rather than days. I COULD NOT put this book down. Loved every page, and I can't wait for the movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Totally engrossing...Can't put this one down.
Review: This is the first Deaver book I have read and as I have just finished it, I ordered all his others. This is definately a page turner.Just when you think you have figured out, you don't. I picked it up because I saw previews for the motion picture and I like to read the books before I see the movie. What an author. Kept me spellbound and could not put it down until I knew what happened. Tuned out everything around me and became part of the police investigative team. Sometimes all the detective stuff can get a little boring, but Deaver gives you enough to be interesting, but not so much to bog you down with details. And I truly admire Amelia Sachs. What a gutsy lady. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to immediately get into a novel and get lost in it while reading. I hope I enjoy Deaver's other novels half as much as I did this one.

Summary: An interesting story. Keeps you guessing until the end.
Review: I thought the story was quite interesting if not a little heavy on police forensics. For the most part however it was well written and it keeps you guessing until near the end who the bad guy is.I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good thriller.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Average but readable thriller.
Review: What bothered me most about THE BONE COLLECTOR was the fact that several aspects of the story were painfully familiar. The killer plants a red herring of a clue that is straight out of the film SEVEN, and other scenes are remniscent of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. The constant textbook elaboration could have been written differently as well. Maybe a good read if you're hooked on this type of genre, but I was hoping for something more original.

Summary: It was good
Review: I haven't read any of Jeffery Deavers other books. This one was a good thriller. Different, but an enjoyably quick read.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Frankly, I was a bit bored
Review: I guess there were some pretty good twists, but I just couldn't get into a thriller in which the lead character can't move. That's an original twist, I suppose, but it just didn't do it for me

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Finally! The mystery thriller genre is made new!
Review: Being a lover of mysteries and crime fiction, the formulaic structure was something one had to simply pretend wasn't there in order to appreciate the story. But this book has breathed new life into the genre giving it a fascinating hero and a well thought out, very satisfying story that does not disappoint. This was my first Deaver book but not my last. Hope the movie does this book justice.
