Rating: Summary: A Great Francine Story from the Biblical Past Review: Once again, Francine Rivers brings a bible story to life with all of its reality and wonderful characters. Her characters become very real and even Bathsheeba who I always viewed in a negative light suddenly seemed human and acceptable as a person. By portraying Bathsheeba as a real person, it helped me look at the whole story of David and Bathsheeba in a new light and a much more forgiving one too I may add. The story is well written, poignant, and beautifully narrated. I very much enjoyed it and am now looking forward to reading the 5th book in the series. I hope she writes more of them about some New Testament women when the Church first began.
Rating: Summary: Just Wonderful! Review: Read this book and you'll be hooked on the entire Lineage of Grace series. Rivers' perspective brings new light to these bible stories.
Rating: Summary: Bathsheba and the sin you cant put down Review: This book is based on the romance between Bathsheba and King David, from the bible. It is full of emotion and just written fabulously. The emotion Francine Rivers puts in to the book is just so grabbing. In it, bathsheba is madly in love with David. She is so in love with him, that it hurts; and the way ms rivers describes that made me fall in love with David! Bathshebas story is all about Gods mercy and his neverending grace. Bathsheba and David commited a terrible sin, and had to pay for it dearly; bathshebas own family disowned her and she was spat upon is hatred, plus her first born son died and she had to watch her beloved love, david share his affection with dozens of other wives and concubines! Nevertheless, Bathsheba sought out God and raised her children to be great children of God. Gods mercy was spread upon both Bathsheba and David as they repented and got a taste of Gods love and tender mercy. A must read for any believer.
Rating: Summary: Unspoken Review: This is a hard book to read, in many ways. It shows the devastation which happens when we allow coveteousness to grow and are not nurturing contentment and faith in God's provision for ourselves. It is very realistic, one of the earmarks of F. Rivers' books. The presumptions about how the breakdown of David's family happened is very insightful. Though, again, this is one person's ideas of the details of a true story. It should be held as just that. I was a little disappointed in the view of David, as the man. So often, the men are held with a kind of.. almost condescending tolerance... We women must fight that attitude! It is not God-honoring. But on the whole, the book is a good one.

Rating: Summary: So Blessed Review: This was the best book I have read in a while. It stired my emotions and made me reflect on how God has moved in my own life to bring me from my own selfish ruin to a blessed women of God. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Rating: Summary: Thumbs Up for Francine! Review: Unspoken is a poignant Biblical love story between Bathsheba & King David (one of the most beloved Biblical characters). This book gives you an insight of one of the most scandalous love affairs in Biblical history. Francine Rivers did a wonderful job of bringing their story to life with her gift of storytelling. This is the first book I've ever read by Francine Rivers, and it certainly won't be the last one either.
