Summary: Read the entire book in one day!
Review: This was my first Barbara Wood novel, given to me as a gift. I was skeptical about the premise, but in the end I just couldn't the book down. Not only was it a fun thriller, but I enjoyed the religious tie-in as well.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An edge-of-your-seat suspense novel!
Review: This was the first Barbara Wood book that I've ever read, and I found it very enjoyable. In fact, I liked it enough to be interested in reading some of her other novels. I found the book very intense in some scenes, and over all, very exciting. I couldn't put it down! The plot was very good and was written at a nice pace, not too fast, not to slow. I can't remember a truly boring part of this novel. Although I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, I thought that some of it was just too much, like the maze and Atlantis Island part. I found that Vegas scene totally stupid and silly, but still, I liked the book. I do recommend this book, but keep in mind, it is only entertainment. It isn't meant to change your faith.

Summary: WONDERFUL
Review: What can I say? I'm a hugh fan of her.Although I'm 17, I have been reading her books since I was 10. "Soul Flame", "Childsong","Domina","Nigth Trains", "Cruses this House", "Virgins of Paradise", "Hounds and Jackals", are all of them as excellent as "The Prophetess".Everytime I read one of her books it seems to be that I'm there...all those characters are around me...I'm running, shounting, I'm one of them! I think she is the best one! I'll never be able to stop reading her.:)Dai

Summary: Murky, suspenseless novel only for diehard fans
Review: While the review plastered on the cover of The Prohpetess claims the work is riveting and exciting, I found it to be neither. The endless digressions into tales of Old Testament priestesses grew weary after a while and served to dilute the questionable suspense of the archaeologist and priest on the run. Not very compelling. The pursuit was midly interesting, but fairly derivative considering other such works. What I expected to be a fascinating story about Millennial fever ended up to be an unbelievable tale. Skip this one.
