Rating: Summary: My Father's Dragon Review: I read this book to my second graders. They loved it! To make it really special, get yourself a backpack and fill it with the many things that are used during this adventure...like a pair of rubber boots, chewing gum, etc. The children love the anticipation of seeing what will come out of the backpack next. Of course we shared the lollipops. Great fun and a great book to read aloud to your classroom.
Rating: Summary: MyFather's Dragon Review: I reccomend this book for ages 8 and undr, because if your over the age of eight it will be to easy. I still think that it's a funny book, but you'll never learn anything if you read it. My Father's Dragon is about a boy who goes to an island and tries to save a dragon. So I give My Father's Dragon two thumbs up, because it's hilarious.
Rating: Summary: Nostalgia Review: I recently bought this book for my seven year old daughter. As I thumbed through the book, the illustrations and story came flooding back to me. It had been a favorite storybook of mine in my childhood. Unfortunately, I had forgotten this book. I was grateful to have the experience of rediscovering it. Further, I was happy to have the pleasure of seeing that my daughter was as enthralled with the story and pictures as I had been as a child. The illustrations and story are superb. I highly recommend this book
Rating: Summary: My Father's Dragon (and the other two in the series) Review: I was very glad we found these books. Our four year old absolutely loved them. They were a great introduction to chapter books and he couldn't get enough. One of the nice perks of these books is that as an adult, you will enjoy the fanciful story, too. The only negative is that there is a bit of violent content, such as, the gorilla threatens to twist Elmer's arms just like he does to the dragon's wings. We are very sensitve to that sort of content and it wasn't enough to cause any nightmares.I highly recommend and enjoyed reading these books to my son.
Rating: Summary: My Father's Dragon Review: I would reccomend this book to a friend because the book is very interesting. I liked it because it is relly cool and you are always wondering what's going to happen next. I also liked it because the way the narrator explains the story makes it scary, funny and also makes you get into the book.
Rating: Summary: an unexpected new favorite Review: I've been expecting my seven year old son to become, like the rest of the world, an addict of the Harry Potter books, but no dice. Instead, he came home from his multi-age class rhapsodizing about a book I had never heard of...My Father's Dragon. And although I haven't read it (yet), I can tell you for sure what happens in the first five chapters, because my son tells us all with such verve and enthusiasim about the adventures that take place there! How the narrator's father gets out of the tigers, and builds a bridge with the crocodiles are two of his favorite parts, and the words "Bome Cack! Bome Cack!! have entered our vocabularies probably forever. I think the three books in this series will be entering our household at Christmas time, and I can't wait to read them myself!
Rating: Summary: This Book Is The Best Review: It will take you away to another world. You won't want to put it down. Read it because it teaches you a ton in a interesting way.
Rating: Summary: A Treasure! Review: My 11 year old son has read all 3 of these books in 3 days. He is NOT one to read unless it interests him and he found these books facinating. We wish there were more! I was referred to this series by the NPR radio show on children's classic fiction. These are the only books he showed any interest towards.

Rating: Summary: A wonderful fantasy book to read to your child Review: My father read this to me when I was a child and it is one of my favorite memories.
Told from the perspective of the protagonist's child, it is the story of an adventurous boy who finds a land full of speaking animals. The dragon named in the title is kept prisoner by the animals and "my father" attempts to rescue the dragon.
This story features wonderful characters. Both you and your child will treasure it.
